Once a solid rocket motor ignites, there is no off switch. It burns to completion. That is what makes solid propulsion one of the most reliable technologies in rocketry. This episode of Journey To Orbit goes inside the solid propulsion systems that power Vikram-1 through Earth's atmosphere. #JourneyToOrbit #Vikram1

Vikram-1 had to be big enough to carry the fuel to reach orbit, and smart enough to shed that weight along the way. Nearly as tall as a 7-storey building, getting something that size to orbit demands precision engineering at every stage of the climb, as much as it demands raw power. This episode is about how the team broke out of that loop and the systems that make it possible. #JourneyToOrbit #Vikram1

This episode is about the onboard intelligence that flies Vikram-1 to orbit: the GNC algorithms that follow a planned path and correct for deviation in real time, the avionics network of sensors and modules that act as the rocket's nervous system, and Ramanujan, the mission computer at the center of it all. #JourneyToOrbit #Vikram1

For the second time, Ursa Major has successfully fired our 10” solid rocket motor with highly loaded grain showing repeatable results with rapid iteration, as seen in the motor start up. On the topic, Bill Murray, Vice President of Product and Engineering for Solid Missiles Systems said, “At Ursa Major, we demand rigor, quality, and repeatable results. While we embrace the learning that comes from testing and iteration, our ultimate goal is nothing short of perfection. In just months, we've scaled and successfully static fired our highly loaded grain solid rocket motors from 2.75” to 5” to 7” and now to 10”. This is in addition to our four successful SRM flight tests. This rapid progression exemplifies Lynx: the future of American solid rocket motor manufacturing. By strategically deploying additive manufacturing and advanced propellant technologies, we achieve in months what traditionally takes years. Long lead times of two or more years for SRMs are no longer acceptable. Our warfighters need reliable, high-performance solutions today, and Ursa Major is prepared to deliver.” #FlyFaster

You probably know GITAI for space robotics. Now we build solid rocket motors too. GITAI is expanding its vertically integrated capabilities to support defense-focused LEO satellite constellations, including applications for missile defense. As part of that effort, our propulsion team is developing and hot-fire testing solid rocket motors in-house, using the same rapid build-test-learn approach that has driven our space robotics development. Bringing critical technologies in-house allows our engineers to move fast, learn directly from hardware, and continuously improve our systems. We’re looking for engineers who want to build and test real flight hardware and contribute to the next generation of U.S. national security space capabilities. Join us:

The era of supersonic long range cruise missiles is beginning in Turkiye 🚀 We are continuing to test ramjet propulsion systems developed with domestic capabilities: • Breaking new ground in high-speed, air-breathing propulsion technologies, • This represents a strategic milestone on the path to future supersonic flight platforms.

Rep Eric Burlison on advanced propulsion the US is hiding "If this government has discovered some form of propulsion that is a game changer, I'm going to be extremely livid. We all should be because I think there is technology that is clearly advanced that might have the ability to improve all of our lives."

EXCLUSIVE: NASA Administrator Confirms Nuclear Power and Propulsion Are The Game Changing Capabilities with advances as early as 2028. “We are going to do a nuclear power and propulsion demonstration in 2028, which is, again, it's paramount for someday being able to send astronauts to Mars and bring them home safely. “NASA needs to do what they’re (private industry) not capable of doing, which is moving into the realm of nuclear power and propulsion, more exotic forms of propulsion that enable you to move mass very efficiently to Mars and come back.” LA Times Media Group LA Times Studios

For everyone who thinks the recent explosion near Beit Shemesh in Israel is "too big" to be a static test of a solid rocket motor ... rockets require tons of thrust (literally) to reach space. Watch a US test, for example.

Ethan Thornton on manufacturing solid rocket motors: "It's very challenging because you're manufacturing millions of pounds of explosives. Essentially, that's what solid rocket motors are… By the time you light them, you don't really have any control. We basically just light it, and it either works or it doesn't. And when it doesn't work, it is usually quite kinetic. One of the things that's hard is you're getting all this precursor shipped to you. At scale, millions to tens of millions of pounds of explosives. So right now we're retrofitting about 200 bunkers that we're renting out to be able to store this stuff. The way we got here, we actually acquired a company called Exquadrum. I generally hate doing acquisitions. In this specific case, just the licensing to do this sort of stuff would have taken five years. Jet engines are plumbing, solid rocket motors are baking. You mix this dough. You pour it into the casing. It's a very specific arduous arts and craftsy process. One of the big things is how do you get every human out of the loop that you possibly can. We're aiming to be able to do hundreds of thousands a year in the coming two years or so. The single biggest rate limiting factor on production of systems like this will be warheads, and it will be solid rocket motors. Right now all the precursor for a lot of this stuff is made at one facility in the U.S. that's bought out like three years. So this isn't a build thing. This is a supply chain effort."

Although there are a lot of rumors, there is no solid reporting indicating that Guano has sided with Chapo Isidro and is now against Los Chapitos. Those claims continue to be unconfirmed or just rumors. The only confirmed thing is that this video is Guano operating in Badiraguato.
