CNN's Brad Todd Todd: “It’s a tragedy that Renee Good is dead, and we should all mourn it. We should all mourn it. We also should look back what went wrong the way before that. Peggy Flanagan, the lieutenant governor of Minnesota, encouraged people to put their bodies on the line. That is irresponsible. Democrats who are encouraging people to obstruct law enforcement, they’re putting them in harm’s way with their rhetoric, and it’s wrong. Republicans shouldn’t do it. Democrats shouldn’t do it. We also have a problem that the Minneapolis police are not allowed to participate – to do crowd control. The encounter between Renee Good and those ICE officers shouldn’t have been – shouldn’t have happened. Minneapolis police should have been there as a buffer, but we don’t have it because Minneapolis ordinances prohibit them from even being there when there’s ICE in coordination. We have to change this. We have to have – Kristi Noem said it this morning – state and local officials need to help ICE do their job, not encourage people to stop them.”

Conservative CNN political commentator Brad Todd Todd is spot on about what transpired in Minneapolis... “Well, I think that ICE needs to constantly reevaluate their tactics and the strategies and whether people whether they’re officers are being trained properly on the use of excessive force. We’ll find out if this was excessive force during an investigation here. Let’s keep in mind, though, David [Axelrod], they’re doing something we haven’t done before. This country hasn’t been serious about enforcing our immigration laws for a long time. And so, this is new territory doing this. And they’re doing so in a hostile environment. The mayor of Minneapolis, Jacob Frey, told citizens to show up, show up in front of ICE. He is encouraged. People like Ms. Good to go out and disrupt the work of law enforcement. “They lost Minnesota’s trust the minute they stepped in our state,” said a former combat medic. The U.S. Army veteran joined protests in Minneapolis following the fatal shooting of 37-year-old Alex Jeffrey Pretti in south Minneapolis by a federal agent. This is the second fatal shooting in south Minneapolis by a federal agent this month. “We have fallen far from what made America great,” he said.

This is a great take by Dr Todd Grande on the death of Renee Nicole Good. He has become one of my favorite YouTubers for his balanced, fair and detailed takes. The ICE agent did not have the benefit of slow motion, multiple camera angles, frame by frame analysis, visibility of the direction her tires were facing, or knowledge of her intent. All he knew and saw, at that moment, was a driver of an SUV ignoring the lawful commands from fellow ICE agents, the sound of accelerating tires and a vehicle moving in his direction.

That being said, the benefit that playing multiple sports has been documented over and over again. I try to frame it to our athletes and parents from a development standpoint is that …. sometimes what you are looking to improve on in your main sport, can be found by playing a different sport.
