The COP29 Presidency continued its participation in the UNGA, with President-Designate Mukhtar Babayev delivering remarks at an event hosted by the “Troika” of COP presidencies in which he urged parties to align their NDCs with the 1.5°C goal. Other Presidency engagements focused on closing the adaptation finance gap and aligning trade and climate finance with decarbonization efforts.
