A family is cruising their small motorized boat along the edge of a busy dock. Instead of shutting the motor off immediately, the kids rush to the front, trying to push the massive boat away while the engine hums behind them. Honestly, when machinery is involved, panic can make a bad situation worse in seconds. Turning off the engine, securing the boat, and reassessing would likely do more than all the pushing in the world. Sometimes, control starts with one simple action stop. In a moment like that, shouldn’t the first instinct be to cut the motor before anything else?
