Qullamaggie shows His Drawdown Monitor From Early Days “Look at how many one-day drawdowns I’ve had. Like one day, this is the loss I talked about on plug. I lost 35% on my account in one day. This is the October 2014 loss. I lost 52% of my account in eight days. Then I have bunch of 10 14 18 percent drawdowns, no biggies. This one-day drawdown. I lost 25% of my account. Here I lost 14% in one day, but these are in earlier days. Things like these, they haven’t happened in a couple of years. As you can see here, my drawdowns are getting overall smaller, and they take longer time to incur. You know, I don’t have any big one day or a few day drawdowns anymore. Most of my drawdowns they happen over periods of weeks because now I’m mostly a position and swing trader, and I don’t do crazy size on these small cap momentum names like I used to. I trade very differently, This is obviously also something I should update for this year. This data and these charts.”

Because if you don’t have drawdowns, it means you don’t take any risk. And if you don’t take any risk, you won’t have any returns. Most of my drawdowns is less than fifteen percent. Exactly—if you don’t have any drawdowns, if you have great returns, you don’t have any drawdowns, you’re made off.”
