In engineering safety is our watchword. During my active days in NEPA there was a day we went for fault clearing on a line (33kv line) and before we move to site we must as a matter of regulation we visited injection substation controlling the line to switch it off. On getting there the line switch was switched off and put a tag "men working" on the switch. Men moved to site, every safety procedures adhered to, mounted ladder, earthed the line and started working. Two hours into the working we heard a large blast,a devastating shocking with intense burn. Two linemen badly affected, ( I didn't want to talk much on the fatality). What could have happened? We did every necessary things. What a loss!!! From the site we went straight to the injection substation to ascertain who could have powered the line. When we got there what happened was shocking! The operator we handed our duty to had closed for his shift but the person who resumed duty was one SHAYO JARABA human being, Werey resumed shift and powered on the switch. Since then whenever we're working on the line our man must stay with the operator at the injection substation.

Peter Bogdanovich on how a Comedy scene should be structured: "Interviewer: When you are doing comedy and pacing a joke, do you work at a series of payoffs—at a topper? Bogdanovich: You’ve usually got to have three jokes and then a fourth on the same subject that’s funnier than the other three. If you don’t give the audience the topper, they slightly resent you. I think the best one I did was in 'What’s Up, Doc?' (1972) Obviously, the pane of glass scene is a great joke; Buck Henry wrote that, based on an idea of Benton and Newman’s. That was like ten jokes building to the guy going through the glass. The glass had to break. If it hadn’t broken I would have been shot, and the people would have stormed out of the theater in fury. But one day, while we were going through San Francisco looking for locations—we were about twenty in a bus driving around—I had an idea. I said, “Wouldn’t it be funny if we had a Volkswagen bus, and the first car hits it and smashes it up, and then the second car hits it and smashes it some more, and then a third car hits it, and then finally the guy who owns it runs out, and the whole thing falls over?” Everybody laughed, so I said, “Let’s do that.” It’s just a very satisfying joke because the audience laughs every time the cars hit, and then on the last one, when the thing falls over, they’re thrilled that we went all the way with it. It’s not even laughter—it’s relief. “Thank God he went all the way.” But, there’s another scene in What’s Up, Doc? that didn’t go all the way, and I’ll always regret it. It’s when all the cars go in the water, and then the police cars pull up. I should have had one of those police cars go in. I knew in preview the audience wanted that to happen, but I didn’t have it. AOC: We get to these extremes through these small erosions and steps. When everyone says makes an exception here or makes an exception there, and then before you know it, you have masked agents roaming the streets of this country that do not feel entitled to identify themselves or do not feel like as though they answer to the American people at all. It does not go without saying that the people that they went after first are some of the most vulnerable activists in the United States, which is to say, pro-palestinian organizers and young people, especially those who who are on green cards or visas… And the idea that we would allow our freedom of speech to be violated and create exceptions to that for people who are advocating for the lives of Palestinians, it erodes at the very core of American identity, too, because this is a land of the free, but only as long as we defend it and make it so

The Candace crazies do exist, they aren’t all bots. I have less faith in the human race than ever now. I’m going to go get Mexican and margaritas. I need a drink. Maybe two and one is always the limit. This woman thinks Charlie wasn’t really killed, he’s in hiding and it was a hologram on the scene. But he escaped through a trap door and the CIA covered it up that day. Erika was the head of an adoption ring where kids were missing and was kicked out of the country for it. We are all living in a military op. That involves Trump outing out the elite and he actually ran the country under Biden. Ok then…. And the moon landing was fake, the Earth is flat, Elon isn’t really sending rockets up, Kayne is not really Kayne now it’s an imposter and Biden is dead and was never President….. She says she know, knows and when asked she can’t prove any of it. Of course she can’t. Take the time to listen. The episode was actually pretty entertaining. Thank you to Nicole for suggesting it.

There was a time when we started with nothing, then reached what I suppose was the pinnacle of life, and then it went down, and up and down again. I’ve faced the good times and various dramas. So many things that it almost feels like a dream. I never thought one person would have to shoulder so much. There were moments when I felt worthless or even started looking down on myself. However, I want to thank all my friends. Even if we haven't always talked about the specific problems, dramas, or successes each of us has faced, I always remind myself that in this house, I’m not the only one walking a path covered in stones and gravel. Knowing I have friends sharing the joys and sorrows makes me feel like I’m not alone. Even if those lonely thoughts creep in sometimes, I guess that’s just human nature. Most importantly, I have to thank P’Aoftion and the entire team for looking after us, no matter which gen we belong to. i asked an AI to break my app. it did. then fixed it. it was breaking the app on purpose and somehow made it better i used the new Replit ⠕ Agent 3 (anyone can try it right now ) i set it up to act like a QA tester told it to click through every page try every button and report anything weird it didn’t just test the app — it used an actual browser logged every step screenshot the UI and flagged two bugs i didn’t even know existed then it rewrote the code to fix them tested it again and sent me a summary like “fixed button logic on checkout flow — confirm working” all without me asking it ran for almost 2 hours autonomously while i did other work this is like a dev + tester rolled into one but without the back and forth i didn’t give it prompts i gave it a goal and that’s just one thing it can do it’s more like assigning work to a teammate not chatting with a bot we can now finally hand off part of our own work and products to AI without being nervous about the outcome you can try it here:
