For those of you tired of yet another AI-based IDE: Check out Traycer. It's a Visual Studio Code extension (free forever for anyone working on open-source repositories), and it does something different from everyone else. You write a high-level prompt outlining the changes you want to make to your codebase, and the extension generates a plan for you before you touch the code. (It reminds me of GitHub Copilot Workspaces.) You can review the plan, understand exactly the changes the extension will make to your code, and make any modifications. When you are ready, you execute the plan, and Traycer stages all of the changes so you have a new opportunity to review everything. Only then does Traycer apply the changes. This is ideal for large codebases where you'd rather study the changes the AI plans to make before they make it into your code. Look at the video I recorded to see how it works. Attacks always get better. Here's a new nginx RCE that bypasses ASLR, tested on the latest nginx 1.30 and 1.31. This still requires a non-default config, but unlike some previous bugs, it does not depend on any additional vulnerabilities or external helpers to get to RCE. We reported the bug on May 15. F5 has confirmed it, and hopefully a patch will land soon. This is getting ridiculous ๐Ÿ˜…. We have enough nginx bugs to do an entire week of MAD Bugs on it. Who could have thought nginx is starting to feel like the new Linux kernel? This is the funniest time in computer hacking. And yet the world is completely unprepared for this new reality.

With all the buzz around the Codex App, OpenAI Developers quietly snuck out a new CLI update (0.94.0) as well. And boy is it an important update! Codex Plan mode is now officially released to the general audience! I am very excited about this one as it has a really strong prompt that is unlike any other plan mode I've personally used. Codex Plan mode doesn't necessarily just ask you 3 questions up front. It goes, collects context, asks questions, collects more context, asks more questions (sometimes), and then writes an incredibly high quality plan. It is my favorite implementation of plan mode thus far. It also comes with Codex's own version of "AskUserQuestion!" Although, it only works in Plan mode for now. Note that none of this code is written in advance or just a tool call, it writes code in realtime and dynamically executes it in the context of the browser. - Worked on the DOM Engine which provides better context to the assistant for dynamic code execution. - Wasn't satisfied with the design in the last update, tried to make it better. Is Windsurf better than Cursor? impossible to say, but... it does one thing better: soooo... I spent an hour testing windsurf... and this is what i created... and app called "boop-boop" lol... one thing windsurf does is it searches the internet. If you've been watching my videos you know that i go to perplexity all the time to get code examples and docs. but with windsurf you can just say, "search the replicate top image gen models and add them to the chat we just created" It will search the internet, find the right model then write the code. This is great for replicate and openrouter. You can have one api key in your .env file then just tell windsurf to search for docs for [insert ai model] and it will just add it to your app. Impressed tbh.

It's collaborative in planning & and a diligent operator while acting. It plans thoroughly, asks optioned follow-ups when needed, & then gets out of the way and ships code. On long tasks it keeps going before pausing to check in. It follows instructions to the letter. And most importantly -- it writes good code. GPT-5 is like "The Wolf" from Pulp Fiction. This is huge for production applications! Literally every developer has to deal with server errors they can't reproduce, and it doesn't matter how many logs they have.
