We’re expanding the Gemini API File Search tool 🔍 with 3 new updates that enable developers to more easily build multimodal RAG systems with enhanced precision: + Multimodal Support: By leveraging our Gemini Embedding 2 model, File Search can now reason across image and text simultaneously. + Custom Metadata Filtering: Bring structure to unstructured data by tagging files with custom key-value labels. This pre-filters your data and boosts search speed. + Exact citations: File Search can now capture and return the exact source (down to the page number) for every piece of information indexed. See multimodal File Search in action with our example app in Google AI Studio. Chat with your entire image and doc library, ask questions, and trace answers back to the source:

File systems are quickly becoming a core abstraction for AI agents for knowledge work. By having access to a file system, agents can effectively manage context, process any amount of information, and create new files and data. The challenge is that local file systems are inherently limited in size, lack governance capabilities, and are inherently personal -not collaborative- in nature. Now, with the Box API and LangChain's deepagent SDK, you can bring the full power of a secure, collaborative cloud file system to your AI agents. Repo ↓

How to use the new Icon Composer with an existing Xcode project: 1. Make a new icon file 2. Drag it into your Xcode project (Move into) 3. Xcode should prioritize that over previous AppIcon files 4. Close the Icon Composer file 5. Click on Icon in Xcode 6. Open in Icon Composer (Make edits now) Things to Note: 1. Xcode will render the new static icon for previous macOS versions (Sequioa) 2. If you drag the app icon around your Dock, you may not see the app icon update unless you drag it off the Dock (Stop the app) 3. You may need to Clean + Run to see the icon update 4. Change the "Primary App Icon Set Name" to choose between multiple Composer files.

Windows Copilot has just been massively improved: It can now understand any file on your PC. You can drag and drop a PDF, for example, and ask it to explain or summarize it. Then it can take it into account for the following answers. Closer and closer to a real AI computer.

Instinct-to-Instinct network Since the launch of the Instinct-to-Instinct network last week, Instincts have coordinated over 300k+ times with the most trusted people in users’ lives. Today, we're making two improvements to the network. (1) Support for direct file delivery Instincts can now share PDFs, images, spreadsheets, and other files directly with each other. The receiving agent receives the original file in its workspace, and can analyze it, edit it, or use it in ongoing work. This enables richer collaboration: exchanging proposals, combining travel plans, comparing spreadsheets, or passing finished work between your Instincts. Every file that’s transferred between Instincts is encrypted end-to-end between the sender and recipient. (2) Trusted network invitation links Invitation links make it easier to add people to your trusted network. You can access your link by asking your Instinct or copying it from your Workspace. When you share your link with someone, they can seamlessly send you a connection request. If they're not yet on Instinct, your connection link will also serve as a referral link that they can use to sign up for Instinct. Every connection request still requires explicit approval on your end. You can also generate new links and invalidate old ones.
