The problem with One Piece is not the fillers. It is the abundance of mixed canon/filler episodes, anime-canon arcs, and an excessive number of flashbacks. The series is already far too long and needs a proper conclusion before it overstays its welcome like Naruto Shippuden did.

If this video had been uploaded back in the 2000s or early 2010s in lower quality and had been deleted for some reason, there would be a full-scale search for this footage, and you’d see this thread popping up all over the place in screamer and lost media icebergs.

to be fair this is only a big problem on the anime, if anything, the manga for the last couple of years has had the opposite problem where it tries to cram so many things in one chapter, in one panel

You forgot the thousands of cuts to show the "action" from every angle, the tons of impact frames and the dad redoing every single action 3x even if he already does 3x

Specifically the anime, the manga has good pacing for most of its run. I will never forget how bad they butchered the gear 5 batter joke. This joke shoulda been like 20-30 seconds at MOST. They completely ruin the pace and entire life of this joke.

as someone who watches asmr, this was fairly peaceful until the last 10 seconds. Then again, asmr timing is waaaaaaay worse. a procedure that should take at most 2 minutes, takes a full on 30 and that's with 0 ad read lmao
