Folks, I see a few comments here arguing that the stance by the Spanish government is opportunistic (linked to internal matters, aimed at obfuscating unpopular issues at home, problematic coalition dynamics etc etc), and not strategic. This is not an either or issue. It can be both. It is popular in Spain to denounce the war in Iran or that in Gaza. It is popular not to comply with every suggestion coming from Washington. It is also wise to gear up for a very tough upcoming election by building a popular international stance. But that does not mean that what is being done lacks strategic vision. I think the current policy enables Spain to punch above its weight in the international arena. It leverages real assets (like language, history, or past diplomatic stances) to convene others to the table, and to forward Spanish and European interests. This is not about a particular political party or a particular PM. I would wish for this policy to be maintained by other governments moving forward. Anyhow, thanks for engaging in the discussion! In this case Spain is taking a universally beneficent stance, while building on certain relationships. You address many issues here, and varied motivations.

Start by finding new reasonings and meditating on them. The mainstream church of reason hearsay and dogma must be challenged.
