One thing (amongst many things) that’s missing from the FA Cup today, is the FA Cup draws on BBC Radio 2 from Lancaster Gate. Great Memories! #FACup

Used to take a Binatone handheld radio to school and we would always listen to the draw at dinner time

Go back to the future with this. The FA Cup draw was never so dramatic as it was on the radio , with Bryon Butler’s rich voice taking us into the chamber at Lancaster Gate, and an aldermanic voice saying : no 2 — Arsenal…. will play No 63 - Rochdale”

And you didn’t know who was what ball before it started. Another thing ruined by TV for no reason.

More gravitas and compelling than the circus of the draw these days

Ah, the velvet tones of Bryon Butler ⚽️❤️

(2/2) The Premier League's 'elite' clubs share the blame, largely due to their fixation/obsession with the so-called 'Champions League' (what a joke).

This IS / WAS football Stupid thing is that you didn’t need to make it exciting, because, to many of us, IT WAS

@EthanTHFC God rest Daddy he would have listened and written the draw on a piece of paper to give to me when I got home from school. The good old days 😊😊

Who would have thought as well Coventry City would have gone on to win that cup that same year. Sadly now it's always one of City United Liverpool Chelsea or Arsenal...

Did that use to be on around 12.30pm, during the Pete Murray show?
