Elon Musk on building a company: “There are periods where it’s just awful” “A lot of times people think creating a company is going to be fun. I would say it’s really not that fun. There are periods of fun, and there are periods where it’s just awful. Particularly if you’re the CEO of the company. You actually have a distillation of all the worst problems in the company. There’s no point in spending your time on things that are going right. Alexandr Wang on why Paul Graham’s “Schlep Blindness” essay was seminal for Scale AI “One of the secrets to Scale AI — and I think this applies to almost every industry — was that the problem we were solving of building really high quality data sets was something that most machine learning teams knew was very important but it wasn’t necessarily the sexiest problem that every AI scientist wanted to spend their days and nights working on.” Alexandr continues: “There was one article that was pretty seminal for me early on. It was an essay by Paul Graham called ‘Schlep Blindness.’ I’d encourage everyone to read it if you get a chance. But basically the idea was that most people avoid thinking about the really difficult, hairy, ugly, and annoying problems that exist in the world but they’re really important. He actually uses Stripe as one of the examples in his essay, but these problems are everywhere. Peter Thiel on how to build the next billion-dollar startup: "Every moment in the history of business happens only once. The next Mark Zuckerberg won't be starting a social networking site. The next Bill Gates won't start an operating system. The next Elon Musk won't start a Tesla electric car company." Peter's entire thesis rejects the idea of formulas in business. As he puts it: "Science starts with things that are experimentally repeatable, but great businesses are zero to one; they're always one-of-a-kind. There is always this anti-formulaic quality." So what's the one theme he keeps coming back to? "This need for differentiation. What are you doing that nobody else is doing? What ideas do you have that nobody else has? What great business are you working on that no one else is working on?" He continues: "If you're a founder or an entrepreneur, you should always aim to build a monopoly where you're the only person in the world doing what you're doing. There really are only two kinds of businesses in this world: businesses that are in crazy competition and one-of-a-kind businesses that are monopolies." On why you shouldn't just iterate your way to success: "The core thing is to have a great product, and then you can always improve and iterate on that. If you're just trying to optimize and you don't have a great product, that rarely works." His advice? Think 5 to 10 years ahead: "Why will this be a really valuable business in 5 to 10 years? How's the competitive landscape going to develop? These are hard questions to answer, but the great entrepreneurs I know always have some perspective on it. When I was playing chess, one of the early lessons I learned was, a bad plan is still always better than no plan at all." On what makes work meaningful: "It's great to be working on problems where if you weren't working on them, nobody else would do them. If there’s one thing I’ve learned on my lower back journey, it’s this: 👉Strengthening beats stretching every time. If you have lower back problems, chances are your psoas muscles are weak. You can stretch, massage, and foam roll all you want but it won’t be as effective as *movement with resistance*. When I added hanging leg lifts to my routine I saw immediate results. Now I’ve started adding weight with MonkeyFeet—and even a little weight makes it so much harder. (Note: Bent-knee lifts are best for targeting the psoas. Straight leg lifts target the abs and have more to do with body geometry than strength.)

.Sam Altman: If I had to pick one favorite book, I would pick The Beginning of Infinity by David Deutsch. Even if you don’t read the whole thing, the first 40–50 pages are, I think, the most wonderfully optimistic take on why—even in a world with AI—we’re never going to run out of things to do, ways to be useful, problems to solve, and things to explore. I also think it explains, so beautifully, how we got here and why the relatively simple process we’ve followed throughout human history brought us to this incredible place.

The truth has a way of revealing itself, no matter how long it’s buried. I think we are seeing examples of this around the world today. As I’ve spent time examining Diana’s death, I’ve been struck by how many questions still have no clear answers in this case. Looking at what’s happening around the world, it feels like the right moment to take a closer, more honest look at what really happened that night. I believe there may have been foul play involved. I enjoyed working on this episode. The research and the people we spoke to made it a great experience.

PRAYER IS POWERFUL, but God doesn't always say "yes" when we ask for what we think we need or want. Sometimes we need to work and earn whatever it is we want/need. Moral of the story: If we practice Christian principles (the principles on which this country was founded) - and learn to count our many blessings, we can find happiness. Most great things in life are created through prayer and perseverance and are not always easy, but one thing is sure - we can learn to be happy in whatever situation even when we are struggling but working to fix our problems. When there is life, there is hope.

NC State Football C Dylan McMahon has been killing it for the West team on Day 2 of #ShrineBowl practices. Excellent anchor during 1-on-1's and displayed great technique and movement skills in the team session. Here's a nice rep on the double-team on IZ here. Good job "knocking" the DT's hip and then peeling off on the linebacker. If you pay attention to the opposite EZ camera view, you can see that his eyes are locked on the LB the entire time. Coach Garett Tujague did a great job with this one. #NFL #NFLDraft

Humbling. No other way to describe my first day training for The Kettlebell Mile. I started slow, but I’m committed to working up to a full mile “run” with this thing. Some folks are criticizing Andrew D. Huberman, Ph.D. for “promoting” a reckless & dangerous challenge like this after his great podcast convo with Pavel Tsatsouline. My take? Spending your life on the couch with a remote in one hand and a beer in the other is far more dangerous.

Singing wasn’t even in the script, but once Terry Crews started singing they decided to keep it. This “A Thousand Miles” singing moment in White Chicks wasn’t fully scripted. The song choice was planned, but the way the actors performed it was mostly improvised on set. The cast naturally built the chaotic energy and timing inside the car while the Wayans brothers encouraged them to play around with the scene. Terry Crews even practiced the song for weeks and improvised many of his reactions, which helped turn this moment into one of the funniest and most iconic scenes in the movie.

Days from market cycle top → bottom: 2012: 405 days 2016: 362 days 2020: 376 days We haven’t reached that timing zone yet in this cycle. Purely on historical timing, the highest-probability window for the real bottom is July–November 2026. That matters more than any single number on your chart. Most traders only operate on price: “I’ll buy at X.” But the zone that feels “safe” is usually the zone where people do nothing. I don’t play that game. Below $50,000 I’m a buyer.
