Heads up! Samsung has introduced a very useful upgrade to the Privacy Display feature on the Galaxy S26 Ultra in One UI 9. For example, if you've enabled Privacy Display only for YouTube, when you minimize the video into Picture in Picture (PiP) and return to the home screen, only the PiP window will remain protected by Privacy Display. Your home screen and other apps will no longer be affected. In previous versions, once Privacy Display was enabled, the entire screen stayed in privacy mode, even after switching to PiP, making it much less flexible. One UI, including One UI 8.5, has a long-standing issue with the back gesture: lag. My finger moves, but the animation lags and doesn't follow the finger's response. This puts it behind all other OSes. Comparing One UI 8.5 with vivo's OriginOS5 and OriginOS6 reveals that Samsung's gesture response is the slowest, and I haven't been able to resolve the issue with Home Up. Samsung needs to optimize this. Another problem is that the icons in Samsung's animation are too ugly when they are shrunk. The icons are forcibly stretched to cover the page. Samsung borrowed this from OriginOS 5 at the time, but vivo fixed the problem in OriginOS6, and Samsung One UI 8.5 still has no improvement.

Samsung should straight away copy this animation from iPhone. The transition from lock screen to Home Screen is so seamless smooth and feels alive. Whereas Samsung feels like it’s confused what to show and even if it does smoothly it feels life less and plain. One UI 8.5 & iOS 18

After updating to One UI 6.1.1 I am experiencing so much LESS animations bugs in the software! My S24 finally feels like a flagship. The lags when exciting camera app have also been fixed, which is absolutely amazing. SOOOOOO EXCITED FOR ONE UI 7 🤩🤩

Let me talk about the improvements in One UI 9.0 Beta 4. Here are the two changes I've noticed the most: 1. The Gallery animation has been fixed. The stutter when exiting the Gallery is gone. Returning from the Gallery is now smooth and fluid. 2. Gesture navigation feels more responsive. Samsung has improved the initial responsiveness of the back gesture. When swiping to return to the Home screen, the animation now feels noticeably smoother and more natural. I'm currently at Disneyland, waiting for the fireworks to begin. While I had some time to spare, I recorded two videos to show you exactly what I mean.
