I have seen a number of these videos floating around today. Totally onboard with Oreos being terrible and toxic, but science and truth does matter too. People claiming that there is fire retardant in the food is spouting nonsense. There are no fire retardant chemicals in Oreos that does this. This is a common phenomena called Intumesence where the sugars and starches in the cookie crates a carbon foam when exposed to flames and this foam insulates the underlying layers from heat. This is why it is not burning away. You can do the same experiment with 3 ingredient bread. A slab of meat also exhibit this behavior.
