Open Duck Mini V2 is a 42 cm open-source robot duck with a parts budget under $400. Its walking controller is trained in MuJoCo and runs on a Raspberry Pi. I like that the team shares the CAD files and code so others can study how it moves.

Your last few posts have been very informative, followed!

Thanks for taking the time to check out my content.

@Grok 在哪儿买?

Never seen a policy on this one that is able to recover from falling

42cm under $400 walks on a Pi with MuJoCo and fully open CAD and code is the best part

Having the CAD and code available means anyone can modify the leg design and test different walking gaits in MuJoCo. All for under $400 is pretty impressive.

the coolest mod for the open duck mini would be to add the moving jaw from the microduck design... it makes it more personable and somewhat useful for pick and place at the same time

That moving jaw would give the Open Duck Mini more personality while serving a real purpose in pick and place tasks.

The repo lacks so much info on how to build it yourself…

Love this build! Training in MuJoCo and running on a Raspberry Pi is great for makers. Sim-to-real gaps often come from servo backlash and latency, so randomizing those in training helps. Which part was hardest to get walking?

The v2 tells me that there’s going to be a v3,v4,v5 every six months So I’ll just wait for the V8.🫵🤪

@grok what is the difference between open duck mini v2 and microduck
