Letting Dots run free for the first month is the tell: an agent that works while you sleep also burns compute while you sleep, so the real launch comes next month, when users find out what a month of background thinking costs on the meter.

This video clip shows human works 24/7. They kept working while cooking dinner, walk in the park. This is not helping, this is enslavement! 😆🤭

Always-on AI agents fundamentally alter the compute baseline. Shifting from discrete queries to continuous background execution places an exponential strain on data center memory, compute, and power grids. The structural bull case for semiconductor and infrastructure proxies just entered its next phase.

What cracks me up is how Elon swooped up Bots as a name before they could. And then caused them to take months to figure out another name.

Dots works in the background so you do not have to wait for a reply each time. This feels like true assistance rather than just faster text generation.

OpenAI Dots is way deeper than the launch demo makes it look... I pulled together the 7 videos worth watching before you hire your first Dot. they run under 3 hours total and cover what the launch demo left out Here are 7 videos: video 1 → How Sam Altman Actually Uses AI (Every, 33 min). Altman walks through his own Dot, how it triages his morning and which features it builds without being asked video 2 → OpenAI's Dots lead on the future of ChatGPT (Sources, 45 min). Alexander Embiricos, who runs the product, explains why Dots started as one agent and how permissions and Space shape what it's allowed to do video 3 → OpenAI's New Agent Stack (Latent Space, 40 min). Computer Use, the Decisions API, UltraFast and the Linux computer every Dot gets video 4 → ChatGPT Dots Just Dropped (Brendan Jowett, 22 min). a hands-on run with schedules, an Airbnb booking and MCP, plus the bugs he hit and why one account still gets only one Dot video 5 → The dots demo, take two (OpenAI, 9 min). the official demo again, recorded after the live one broke on stage video 6 → Everything Announced at OpenAI Dev Day 2026 (PCMag, 16 min). Dots, Space, Sol and Codex Cloud in one recap, useful if you missed the keynote video 7 → We Tested OpenAI DevDay Products (Every, 10 min). a full week of real use with Dots, Space and the Decisions API watch them in this order and the architecture in the article below stops feeling abstract. you'll know what a Dot can do on its own and where it still needs you Grab the full Dots video roadmap in the comments, then read the complete architecture below ↓

OpenAI Dots is insane for building a 24/7 AI company... I mapped the whole OpenAI Dots architecture into one paper: agents, models, tools, memory, delegation, guardrails and the revenue layer. Here are the 10 steps: step 1 → stop treating Dots like a chatbot. each Dot runs in a persistent cloud environment with its own browser, terminal, files, memory and scheduled execution. close the laptop and the workflow keeps moving step 2 → hire by responsibility. give every Dot one clear domain, dedicated sources, a working style, an approval boundary and a trigger. a "general helper" has no role, only undefined context step 3 → make one Dot the orchestrator. you give it the objective, it decomposes the work, delegates to specialized agents, checks their outputs and merges everything into one deliverable step 4 → stop being the courier between agents. with isolated delegation, each worker gets only the context and tools it needs, executes in its own environment, then returns a structured result to the orchestrator step 5 → connect the real business stack: cloud browser sessions, Slack, Microsoft Teams, Google Workspace, internal dashboards and APIs. a Dot without tools is still just a conversational layer step 6 → put the company on a clock. recurring routines and event triggers turn one-off tasks into persistent operations. research, monitoring, reporting and pipeline checks can run while nobody is online step 7 → automate the reversible, gate the irreversible. let agents read, research, analyze and draft autonomously, but require human approval before messages send, money moves, records change or production code ships step 8 → route intelligence by cost. keep the strongest model on orchestration, conflict resolution and final audits, and let cheaper high-context models handle background research, classification and repetitive execution step 9 → give the company shared memory. project specs, approved claims, pricing, decisions and requirements live in one persistent workspace, so every agent works from the same source of truth instead of rebuilding context from old chats step 10 → connect the loop to revenue. research finds the signal, outreach creates the opportunity, execution moves the work forward, analytics measures the result and monitoring discovers the next action AI stops being something you open when you need an answer. It becomes an operating layer that keeps economically useful work moving after you log off. Copy the complete OpenAI Dots architecture blueprint, then read the full roadmap below ↓

The more agents and projects you have running, the harder it gets to keep track of everything through chat alone. This is where Hermes Kanban comes in. Here's how Hermes Kanban works, why it's worth using, and how I'd recommend setting it up: Chat is where you work with an agent. Kanban is where you manage the work across agents. Hermes Kanban gives you a visual dashboard for tracking tasks across your agents and projects. But it's much more than a task board. Here's what you can do with it: • Create tasks and assign them to specific Hermes agents. • Track what's ready, running, blocked, or completed. • Set dependencies so tasks wait for other work to finish. • Coordinate handoffs between specialized agents. • Review progress and see where something needs your attention. And with the dispatcher, Hermes can pick up tasks that are ready to run and launch the appropriate agent to handle them. Now, here's something I'd recommend: **Create a separate Kanban board for each major project.** For example: 📌 Content production Research → Drafting → Review → Assets → Done 📌 Software development Bugs → Features → Testing → Review → Done 📌 Business operations Research → Waiting → In Progress → Blocked → Done Hermes supports multiple isolated boards, so each project can have its own tasks, workspaces, logs, and agent workflows. You can also connect a board to a Hermes Project to keep the work tied to the right project context. The more work you hand off to Hermes, the more valuable this becomes. Instead of digging through conversations trying to figure out what every agent is doing, give each project its own board and manage the work from one place. 🎥 Video credit: Tom

🚨 OpenAI just launched Codex, a brand-new autonomous coding agent that can build features and fix bugs on its own. We’ve been using it Every 📧 for a few days, and I’m impressed. I invited Alexander Embiricos (ben davies), a member of the product staff responsible for Codex, to demo Codex and talk about it live on a special edition of AI & I: What Codex is and how it works Codex is designed to be used by senior engineers—it performs coding tasks like adding features or fixing bugs autonomously. It's built to allow you to start many sessions at once, so you can have multiple agents working in parallel. Codex is built to have "taste" OpenAI trained Codex to have the taste of a senior software engineer. It knows how big codebases work, how to write a good PR, and uses clean, minimal code. Why an “abundance mindset” is best for interacting with agents Codex is designed to allow users to delegate many tasks at once without getting caught up in the details. This lets you point an abundance of agents at a specific task like a difficult bug—it’s worth it even if only one of them succeeds. How OpenAI is thinking about agents Codex is one piece of a unified super-assistant OpenAI wants to eventually build—an agent that helps users easily get things done by selecting the right tools for them behind the scenes. OpenAI’s vision for the future of programming In the future developers will probably spend less time writing routine code and more time guiding agents, reviewing their work, and making strategy decisions. Programming will become more social, letting teams easily delegate multiple tasks at once, allowing people to focus on ideas and collaboration instead of routine coding. Watch below!
