UNRWA has been providing education across four generations. For more than 75 years, the Agency has supported more than 2.5 million #Palestine Refugees to finish school. Despite the destruction of schools across the #Gaza Strip, #UNRWAworks to keep teaching children. Over 66,000 children are being taught in UNRWA’s temporary learning spaces, and nearly 300,000 through digital learning. Every child has the right to education. UNRWA must be allowed to continue supporting Palestine Refugee children to build their futures.

As part of our Plan for Change, we want to learn from special schools and spread their expertise across the schools system, whilst ensuring they are able cater to children with the most complex needs – restoring parents’ trust that their child will get the right support at a good, local school.

This morning we chose action over ceremony — stepping into the kitchen in Muthangari Primary School to prepare a meal for our children as schools reopen for the new term. The Dishi na County programme feeds over 300,000 public school learners across Nairobi. These students are guaranteed a hot, nutritious meal every school day for Ksh5. This is more than food; it is dignity, focus, and opportunity served on a plate, For many children, this meal is the difference between staying in class or dropping out, between concentration and hunger, between hope and despair. Uganda's long journey to its current development is strategically based on the available resources over time, which is why the government has steadily managed to achieve real development. Now, we need to address the issue of free education. We are at risk due to the high dropout rates among our children, right from primary school. While several strategies may make developmental sense, I strongly believe that free education for all, PDM, and the Emyooga are critical programs for achieving socio-economic transformation. These initiatives involve everyone and can drive progress for our society.
