LAREDO – The Texas DPS arrested an illegal immigrant from Honduras after finding four illegal immigrants being smuggled inside a box truck during an Operation Lone Star traffic stop in Zapata Co. 🚨 𝐓𝐄𝐗𝐀𝐒 𝐃𝐏𝐒 𝐃𝐈𝐒𝐑𝐔𝐏𝐓𝐒 𝐇𝐔𝐌𝐀𝐍 𝐒𝐌𝐔𝐆𝐆𝐋𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐀𝐓𝐓𝐄𝐌𝐏𝐓 🚨 On 5/10/26, a Texas DPS Trooper received information on a possible vehicle involved in human smuggling and located the suspect vehicle at a hotel parking lot in Del Rio. As the trooper made contact with the driver of a red Chevy Colorado, the driver attempted to flee on foot but was quickly apprehended. The driver, Wilber Adonay Serrano Ruiz of Houston, TX, was charged with smuggling of persons after troopers discovered four illegal immigrants from Mexico concealed inside the vehicle. The illegal immigrants were turned over to the U.S. Border Patrol.
