Operators of the Unmanned Systems Forces struck two Tor-M2 SAM systems worth $50 million On one of the active front sectors, operators of the 412th Nemesis Regiment of the USF detected and hit two enemy Tor-M2 surface-to-air missile systems. As a result of the attack, one launcher was destroyed... and the other sustained severe damage. The Tor-M2 is a short-range SAM system used by the enemy as part of layered air defense to cover troops and facilities from Ukrainian aircraft, missiles, and UAV strikes, as well as to protect medium- and long-range air defense systems such as the S-300 and S-400. Its interception radius for aerial targets is up to 15 km. The cost of a new launcher is about $25 million. 💥 USF operators destroyed a Russian "Buk-M3" along with its ammunition Fighters of the 14th UAS Regiment in coordination with aerial reconnaissance from the 74th Reconnaissance Battalion, detected and destroyed a Buk-M3 surface-to-air missile launcher. The operation was a model of coordinated teamwork between units. First, using UAVs, operators of the "Altair" group from the 14th Regiment immobilized the target, which was being "illuminated" by pilots from the 74th Reconnaissance Battalion. Then, fighters from the "Charlie" company of the 14th UAV Regiment delivered a precise strike that caused the detonation of the ammunition and complete destruction of the launcher. The Buk-M3 SAM is a modern Russian air defense system capable of intercepting aerial targets at distances of up to 70 km. The destruction of such systems inflicts multimillion-dollar losses on the enemy and opens the airspace for further operations by Ukraine’s Defense Forces. 🇺🇦 USF: One step ahead!

Since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Warriors from the Alpha special operations unit of the Security Service of Ukraine (SSU) have destroyed more than 500 Russian air defense systems. Among the targets hit were key elements of what Russia claims to be its "most advanced air defense": ▪️ S-400 and S-300 long- and medium-range surface-to-air missile systems ; ▪️ Pantsir-S1 missile systems; ▪️ Buk-M2 / Buk-M3, Tor-M2, Osa, and Strela-10 systems; ▪️ as well as radar stations, command posts, and detection assets, without which air defense becomes a blind and poorly coordinated system. According to the SSU, this work has made it possible to punch corridors through Russia’s layered air defense system and enable long-range drones to get deep into enemy rear areas, targeting bases, depots, airfields, and other military facilities.
