Opposing DEI is 'stupidest thing ever': Failed former mainstream journalist Rachel Gilmore, a former Global News journalist who spread misinformation about the Freedom Convoy and briefly served as CTV's election fact checker, was called to testify on diversity, equity, inclusion and feminism during a Commons committee hearing. Sheila Gunn... Reid and Lise Merle XX lambaste the decision to invite the “failed former mainstream journalist", to the status of women committee discussing anti-feminist topics. Rachel Gilmore, who worked for Global News during the pandemic, was relieved of her duties, and then very briefly served as CTV's election fact checker before, once again, being let go from the company. But Gilmore's controversial time spent working for mainstream media outlets clearly resonated with some in government, who have invited her as a speaker during multiple committee hearings. “Do they have no other women that they could call to this committee?” wondered Lise, questioning the relevance of Gilmore's invitation. Gilmore, along with other speakers, were full of “anti-man” rhetoric during the hearing, Sheila said. “I don't even think they're feminist, per se,” she added, suggesting she doesn't believe they “actually care about vulnerable women who are suffering from domestic violence.” The blame was quickly cast toward white men, Sheila continued, despite statistics telling a different story. Sheila also highlighted a wild claim from Gilmore, who said online physical fitness communities “are a gateway to anti-feminist violence.” “Is that right?” deadpanned Lise. “If you're anti-DEI, it's the stupidest thing ever,” was another from Gilmore shared by Sheila. “Her entire appearance was DEI, like she's there simply because she's there because of DEI at the DEI committee.” Diversity, equity and inclusion policies are closely aligned with socialism, chimed in Lise. “Everywhere socialism has been applied, it's failed. Address online harms and regulate digital platforms: censorship. Develop strategies to engage men and boys in advancing gender equality through early intervention. Translation: start on the boys young. Fund Canadian media that agrees? Bribe the regime media. Expand data collection on anti-feminist ideologies — that's paying professors to create fake scholarships around it. The report identifies the "manosphere" as a primary threat. Ezra, with some bewilderment, said that this includes young men trying to get physically fit. The committee heard testimony that "looks-maxing" — working to improve one's physical appearance — originates from anti-feminist online subcultures and is spreading into playgrounds and locker rooms. "We better stop the looks-maxing," Ezra said sarcastically. "We want people to be ugly." Traits the report describes as "toxic masculinity" include working hard, carrying a load without complaining, and showing strength. "Imagine being strong, showing strength, not complaining, and calling that toxic masculinity," Ezra said. "Isn't that something all men should aim for?" Women who prefer traditional roles — homemaking, raising children — are given two sentences in the report, in which they are essentially accused of being traitors to their sex. The "tradwife" movement is described as promoting "misogyny, anti-equality, misinformation, and idealized patriarchal roles." Choosing to be a homemaker, the report suggests, is itself a form of harm. The report recommends counter-messaging in sports, intervention in locker rooms, and "pre-bunking", that is, educating children before they are exposed to what the committee considers misinformation, so they are inoculated against it in advance. I have quite a few clips from Allie Beth Stuckey’s response episode. If there is continued interest, I’ll keep sharing them, but I really don’t want to beat a dead horse. Still, there are a lot of interesting things that she says, if you listen closely. First, Allie attempted to respond to the allegations that her TPUSA speech was a feminist nagging session. I say attempted, because she basically said that her definitions of “feminism” and “nagging” are different from that of her detractors. Allie can’t be a feminist, because she was just a woman standing on a stage saying true things and sharing her concerns. And it couldn’t be nagging because she got a very enthusiastic response from the crowd, the same one that paid to come see her speak. Briefly, Stuckey was acting like a feminist because she was on a stage in a teaching capacity. She was nagging because she was telling men everywhere what they had to do in order to be real men. A woman made a reel saying how she got extra time for herself after hiring a cook. The comments were full of positivity from Indian feminist women saying she deserved that extra time. But the point these feminist hippos are missing is this - The cook is a female who woke up early, finished her household work, got ready, and then came to cook for her too. Her husband must have probably been working in harsher conditions, obviously. Many Indian women who actually put in the effort never do feminist drama. It is always the cunning hippos who want extra privileges. Why are modern women so lazy? Even in corporate, they suck. Many of them are hired because of diversity hiring. They aren't as good or as efficient as men. If they want equality, why don't they reject women reservation and diversity hiring? Also, the same women ask for paid period leaves. Will they give paid period leave to their maids? Many women say that cooking and house chores are slavery. They should marry a man who earns the same. They should pay equal bills and hire a maid to cook. Unemployed women have no right to cry about cooking or chores.

On rape as a weapon of war. 👇🏾Remember the women of October 7. Remember the women of Congo. Remember the women of Sudan. The women of Ethiopia. All the victims around the world. There is a war against women. It’s called rape. Women are always the first victims of conflict. They are not only raped and kidnapped, but also sold and exploited as slaves. Their pain is never ending. It’s not only a woman that is destroyed when it happens, but the whole community, a whole family. The women of Congo, the women of Sudan, the women of Ethiopia, they all need us. I am today also especially willing to have us remember the women who were violated on October 7th, who were kidnapped and who were raped. This was also rape as a weapon of war. We need to condemn it, and some of them are still held as hostages. I would like to finish by honoring a woman from my city called Nathalie. Nathalie loves to go running in the morning. When she went out in 2016 to run in Vilvoorde, where I live, someone beat her up, raped her, and left her as if she was dead. After that, she went through so much pain, but the perpetrator was free three years later. The pain was so intense that Nathalie requested euthanasia, and she was granted the right to have euthanasia because the pain was unbearable. This is what our system does to women who are victims. I've been sitting on the evidence for this Girlguiding story since March. Even then, it took months to persuade a mainstream publication to cover this aspect of the investigation. For an independent journalist, pursuing a story like this without the backing of a national newspaper's legal team carries obvious risks. But I persisted because I believe there is a strong public interest in asking whether organisations entrusted with the care of girls are putting safeguarding first. This investigation involved months of conversations, verification and painstaking work. Unsurprisingly, some people have suggested that concerns about these issues are exaggerated. That is why I'm sharing some of the publicly available material I found online. To be absolutely clear, there is no suggestion that this individual has done anything wrong. Indeed one could argue he has also been failed by a system that affirmed and accepted him as a Girlguiding leader and later appointed him to a 16-person advisory committee - apparently without sufficient scrutiny of his suitability for the role. The greater failure, however, was towards the girls and women who should never have been expected to accept males in a single-sex organisation. I hope this story helps explain why many women believe this debate has never simply been about being "kind". It is about safeguarding, boundaries and whose interests are prioritised. I'm grateful to everyone who helped bring this story to light, including women who spoke to me privately and helped with research. And Graham Linehan who reminded me how important it was to tell this story. And I do think we should ask why it was so difficult to secure national coverage of a story that many people would regard as being firmly in the public interest.

For decades, universities, corporations, and nonprofit organizations have argued that they need diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) programs to create positive work and educational environments. The idea has been that training employees, students, and faculty to see and denounce structural racism and white supremacy everywhere will improve relationships. And yet, nothing that employers and universities have done in the last several decades has proven more toxic, divisive, and dispiriting than DEI. Dozens, if not hundreds of individuals have gone public to describe the cult-like mistreatment of people who refused to accept the DEI dogma that white supremacy is all-pervasive, that non-whites are inherently victims of oppression, and only whites and Asians, not blacks and Latinos, can be racist. Their rapid spread across America’s colleges and universities, major corporations, and nonprofit organizations is a testament to the genuine demand for such programs among boards of directors, trustees, and executive staff. The thousands of DEI executives, consultants, and authors are a testament to the desire for DEI. Today, DEI is a $10 billion annual global industry. But telling millions of people that they are inherently racist by the color of their skin has provoked an understandable backlash. After all, it’s a racist claim made in the name of fighting racism. The central idea of DEI is that all whites and, depending on the DEI variant, all Asians are racist, for reasons outside of their control. It is a dehumanizing ideology. It is also conspiratorial, paranoid, and insulting. Consider the case of former Pennsylvania State University assistant professor of writing, Zack De Piero. In June 2020, the DEI director of the university sent a memo ordering “white people” to “Stop talking and listen to what needs to be done,” accept that they had “internalized white supremacy,” and “hold other white people accountable…” Then, the university’s DEI Vice President held a Zoom and “told everybody in attendance, ‘I want you to hold your breath in honor of George Floyd. And for all the white attendees, I want you to hold your breath even longer until you feel the pain.’” A few months later, De Piero’s employer made him watch a video called “White Teachers Are a Problem.” One year later, he says, The Penn State Affirmative Action Office told him, point blank, “There is a problem with the white race” and ordered him to attend “antiracist” workshops “until you get it.” De Piero refused to accept that he was racist, simply for the fact of being white. He refused to accept that he should lower the standards he used with his minority students simply because they were minorities. In various ways he pushed back, until he got in trouble with his supervisor. “It’s not that complicated,” he said. “You shouldn’t have to go to work and be told that you’re morally deficient because of your race.” De Piero eventually got into trouble with his advisor for asking too many hard questions about the “antiracism” trainings. De Piero looked into hiring an attorney to sue the college but couldn’t afford it. “I was just about to drop it,” he said, “and in the 12th hour I got news from the Foundation Against Intolerance and Racism (FAIR) that they had some funds to help me file a complaint. Regina police respond to backlash over weekly call-to-prayer trial Last week, a new mosque in downtown Regina announced that it had tested its outdoor, weatherproof, four-direction call-to-prayer system and that it has a permit from the Regina Police Service to begin a trial period of weekly calls. This was unexpected news for many Regina residents, who have since expressed concerns over the potential regular disruption of peace and the lack of consultation with the community. Regina Police have since issued press releases claiming that the amplification falls within bylaw requirements and discouraging threats targeted at the mosque. Carney punishes Albertans again with failed trade negotiations Alberta celebrated its 121st birthday as a province on September 1, after it was created by splitting a proposed mega-province, which would have been known as Buffalo, into what we now know as Alberta and Saskatchewan. Sheila Gunn Reid joined Ezra Levant on Tuesday's episode of The Ezra Levant Show for an in-depth conversation on all things Alberta to mark the occasion. The conversation started with the good news first. Alberta was projected to run a $9 billion deficit this year, but instead, the province pulled an $11 billion turnaround and posted a $2 billion surplus — its sixth consecutive budget surplus. The provice allso created 91,000 jobs last year, more than half of the roughly 180,000 jobs created across the entire country. "Things are good here in Alberta," Sheila said. "But they're good here in spite of the federal government and not in any way because of Confederation." Ezra then shifted to a New York Times report, saying he had to learn from an American news outlet, rather than a Canadian one, about Mark Carney's apparent offer to revive the Keystone XL pipeline as part of trade negotiations with the U.S. — only to then walk away from a deal at the last moment. Premier Danielle Smith, speaking at a press conference that Rebel News reporter Angelica Toy attended, said she had explicitly told the prime minister he had her full support to pledge additional barrels — another million or two million barrels a day — as a way of bridging the divide and closing the deal. Carney, it would seem, did not take her up on the offer. "Just walked away from $30 billion a year," Ezra said, "and I think it's because Brookfield doesn't have a share in it and the Liberal government doesn't have a cut of it. So they can't really praise themselves like they do when they give away every dollar in public investments." Sheila said the pipeline is a shared interest, "something that Alberta wants, but it's also something the Americans want." "It was an easy win in these negotiations and Carney took it off the table. Danielle Smith has explicitly said, 'You will not use Canadian energy as a bargaining chip. We don't want it. We're not going to hurt people on both sides of the border by doing this.' And yet Mark Carney, as an affront to the Western premiers, decided to use it as a bargaining chip anyway. It's such disrespect to us," she said. The failure to complete Keystone XL is one of many, as Ezra detailed, pointing to projects like the Trans Mountain, Northern Gateway and Energy East proposals. Each was privately funded, but each was killed before being completed, with the Liberals ultimately nationalizing the Trans Mountain pipeline for a cost of $35 billion. "The Liberals destroyed a hundred billion dollars of oil pipeline wealth and a quarter of a trillion dollars of oil wealth," Ezra said. "And Venezuela's going to fill up those U.S. refineries," he added, following a major announcement from the two countries this week. Carney, Sheila said, "used the oil patch as a weapon." In the end, "the only people who were punished were Albertans. So maybe Carney doesn't think of it as a failure." Our first stop in Italy was a sit-down with a former BBC-style journalist who also served as a politician here. Then we went straight to the theater for a screening of "An Inconvenient Study", followed by a panel I had been looking forward to for a long time. It was with four Italian doctors and scientists, sitting down to talk about what they actually saw during COVID. Italy was the story. After China, Italy was where the world watched people die on television and decided this was the end. I wanted to know if that's what was really happening on the ground, from the people who were there. Those conversations are coming. All I can say is wow.

We will never have a peaceful country while these people are bringing foreign wars to our streets.
