I hope they have a good way to stop dirt/filth from getting in the joints of the hands from when it’s picking up dog shit or cleaning the toilet or at least to be able to completely sanitise it before it cooks my dinner.

I don't need a robot. They're not necessary. I believe that in maybe 1% of cases, they could be practical in the home, for example, if someone is unable to care for a family member while they're away, or in a few other specific situations. This kind of advertising is marketing driven by economic interests. They're normalizing the idea and planting it in your mind that you "need" to have one, that owning a robot "will be normal." No, that's not necessarily true. They'll tell you that robots will give you more time with your family and loved ones. But you already have that time. Manage it wisely and spend it with the people you care about. The push for robots is being driven by very powerful economic interests. And companies may also use automation to distance themselves from the responsibilities they have toward their employees.
