I really think it’s unfortunate that they are not sending it to the Standing Committee. What the community feels is that this Bill is going to obliterate their identity, and therefore it was very important that they should have been consulted, and that this Bill being brought forward should have been passed after proper consultation. The Bill will change and expand the definition of vaccine to include any “immunising agent, that confers protection to persons through active or passive immunity against disease”. What that will likely mean is more products being paid for by the tax payer and presumably added to the childhood schedule in due course. I will NOT BE SUPPORTING the Bill.
