Every night and every day, they intercept Russian Shahed drones and missiles. This morning, they successfully shot down a Russian ballistic missile. Every success like this saves lives. Our kids live their childhoods under Russian attacks in shelters. We weren't able to protect all of Ukraine but we had the opportunity to use Patriot air defense systems in large cities to shoot down Russian missiles. These systems literally saved countless lives of Ukrainian civilians. And we are immensely grateful for that. If we don't get missiles for Patriot systems, it will be much, much harder to protect our people, our kids. Russia doesn't stop its attacks.

That is the only explanation for the problem with ballistic missiles – insufficient number of interceptors. This is especially true for Patriots. We have proven to all our partners both the need, and more importantly, the possibility of providing greater protection of lives. It is simply nonsensical that, in today’s world, production has still not been scaled up to the level that is actually needed to protect people from ballistic terror. That is why missiles for air defense systems are needed every day, and we continue working with the United States and Europe to ensure stronger protection of our skies. Today in Vilnius, we are coordinating with our partners in the region – Lithuania and Poland. We are working with every leader to strengthen Ukraine. Everyone must clearly understand the threat coming from Russia, and it is our nations who understand this best. I thank everyone who is helping us stand strong.
