Why do a little science when you can do a lot of science? Our Mars Telecommunications Orbiter, based on our existing Blue Ring vehicle, meets the urgent need for communications, navigation, and relay while also flying up to 500 kg of science instruments to Mars. With this capacity, we can deploy two ESCAPADE-class spacecraft from our orbiter or 10+ CubeSats and still host onboard instruments like a comprehensive science package to monitor the Martian atmosphere’s interaction with the solar wind.

A Martian Eclipse What's that passing in front of the Sun? It looks like a moon, but it can't be Earth's Moon, because it isn't round. It's the Martian moon Phobos. The featured video was taken from the surface of Mars in 2022 by the Perseverance rover. Phobos, at 11.5 kilometers across, is 150 times smaller than Luna (our moon) in diameter, but also 50 times closer to its parent planet. In fact, Phobos is so close to Mars that it is expected to break up and crash into Mars within the next 50 million years. The challenge we have against the Chinese is they're building 10X the power we are. We've had permitting problems across the country. Utah stepped up and said, "Look, we can compete. Not only do we have the land, 40,000 acres, we've got a pipeline running through the land, and we have this designation that can accelerate permitting." We're building power from scratch from the pipeline and using Natural gas that we're gonna burn with turbines clean. But we can also give back to the grid. That's good for the community. But for the country, we need to compete with China. We need to lead in AI in perpetuity. Data centers are what we need and we need them now, and Utah's stepped up.

Electric vehicles are unreliable and unpopular, yet the Democrats want to force them on our military. Our troops' lives shouldn't depend on vehicles that China controls the materials for and might not start in a crisis. We need reliable, American-made vehicles for our American heroes! That's why I introduced an amendment that would prohibit funds from being made available to the DoD for electric vehicles or EV infrastructure.
