Our mathematical agony uncle is back by reasonably popular demand. "Dear Josh - How can I be more mathematical in my daily life? - Yours, Tet Ley." "Hi Tet - Easy. Sit down and make yourself a cup of tea. I've made a video just for you - Best, Josh."

John Harbaugh said, "The only failure in life is not getting back up. When you get knocked down and stay down then you're a failure. But you're never a failure if you get back up." "The only person who can make you quit is yourself." Resilience is a daily choice.

I recently discovered, via a popular YouTube video, a lovely mathematical model of dissonance (the Plomp-Levelt Sethares), which convincingly makes the case that dissonance is as much a function of timbre as of relative pitch. Most timbres produce dissonance curves with minima around the just intonation intervals, but I wondered: could we introduce a small amount of inharmonicity in a timbre to have all TET-12 tones fall exactly on minima? Surprisingly, yes! The following is produced with a sawtooth wave. Pictured is the dissonance curve along with the slight inharmonic adjustments.

It’s honestly breathtaking when you finally get a moment to settle down after a long, exhausting day. Everything just slows down for a second, and you can actually sit with yourself and just be. Moments like that really remind you how important it is to reset.

The importance of giving back is something I learned from my parents. They taught my siblings and me that we had a responsibility to help make life better for others, in whatever way we could. What I love most about giving back is how it can deepen our connection to each other and to our communities—something I think many of us need right now. And best of all, anyone can be a giver, because everyone has something to offer the world. Giving Tuesday is just around the corner, and I can’t wait to share more about my plans. Stay tuned 😊

+15k today trading, last year I was working $30/hour I can personally tell you, going from broke to making unfathomable amounts of money is one of the best feelings in life deep down you know, a job isn't for you you've seen your parents... you really wanna be like them? whether you're in college, have a job, or don't know what is going on in life the truth is this: you're either a person who is going to work a job your whole life or you're going to do whatever it takes to make sure that doesn't happen make a decision and do EVERYTHING you can to change your situation and do not stop until its changed IT IS NOT EASY but you wouldn't still be reading this if there wasn't a part of you that didn't think you were capable stop telling yourself you can't because of your current situation start now, take small steps less video games, netflix, social media, p*rn more time spent towards figuring out how you're going to make internet money or work a job your whole life and look back at your life in regret choice is yours

Brent Strom: "It's exciting to come back. I just want people to realize this is not a nostalgia tour for me at all. I'm here to help Josh (Miller) and Ethan (Katz) as much as I can, just a different set of eyes and ears. ... I've had enough time in the spotlight to last a lifetime."

Great Q by Istvan: How do you change a system? Through a vibeshift - and it's easy to do: - You change your mindset to "i can change this" - You change things - You get others to do the same People keep telling me i am just naively optimistic and ignore issues. I am not. I am super critical about a lot of issues in Europe. The vector is bad. I just don't see the point of repeating the same 50 stats on twitter for easy likes, negativity farming, or punching down. How miserable can people be to make that their daily task? There are clear things that can be done that have 10x outcomes for Europe if they work out. Worth doing. Many of them don't even need politicans. My pov: - We need more deterministic thinking about the future. - We need more builders, fewer whiners, bullies, and farmers Shit ain't easy, never was, welcome to the party. Here is me talking at slush about the whole issue.
