Wild Hornets, the manufacturer of the interceptor STING, is launching its own private air defense unit 🔥 The Ministry of Defense has issued an order granting private air defense status to Wild Hornets — specifically to its anti-Shahed unit, Night Hornets, which already has significant combat experience and dozens of targets downed. Starting today, we are building our own anti-drone air defense network. It will include remote control centers, a network for remote drone launches based on Hornet Vision Ctrl technology, and field positions. We will not sell “facility protection” services. The operations of our private air defense unit will be funded by profits from drone sales. Night Hornets will operate wherever protection from russian attack drones is needed — as part of Ukraine’s overall air defense system. Our crews already go on combat duty alongside the military every day. The unit has destroyed more than 50 Shaheds, including jet-powered ones. The unit includes Wild Hornets instructors and test pilots. Among them are guys who started from scratch at the company and grew into top instructors, as well as veterans of the russian-Ukrainian war with real combat experience. The unit has destroyed most of its targets using our remote interceptor control technology — Hornet Vision Ctrl. Now, this effort is scaling up. Today marks a significant moment, truly historic for both our nations – France and Ukraine. Together with Emmanuel Macron, we signed a Declaration of Intent on Cooperation in the Acquisition of Defense Equipment for Ukraine. This document enables Ukraine to procure military equipment from France’s defense industrial and technological base, including 100 Rafale F4 aircraft by 2035 for Ukraine’s combat aviation, SAMP/T air-defense systems, air-defense radars, air-to-air missiles, and aerial bombs. Joint projects between our defense sectors will also begin this year – we will co-produce interceptor drones and work on developing critical technologies and components that can be integrated into Ukrainian drones. New aircraft, new reinforcements, new steps to strengthen our army and our country. I am deeply grateful to France, President Emmanuel Macron, and all the French people.

The Ukrainian Ministry of Defense says Alexa Spatium’s primary targets are Russian Geran-3, Geran-4 and Geran-5 attack drones, as well as Shahed-131s. The high-speed platform can also engage reconnaissance UAVs, helicopters and other aerial targets. Beyond its interceptor role, the system was designed with the capability to engage selected ground and surface targets, giving it considerably greater mission flexibility than a dedicated anti-drone interceptor. We must neutralize this threat in order to bring diplomacy into motion sooner. We hope for the implementation of all agreements that will strengthen our defense. Ukrainian interceptor drones are now capable of autonomously shooting down Russian Shahed drones. A Brave1 developer has created a technology that automates 95% of the interception process - from launch to target destruction. The system has successfully undergone combat testing in Kharkiv region. The operator monitors targets in real time, selects a target, and authorizes the strike. The system then independently guides the drone to the target, autonomously identifies it, and carries out the interception. "Autonomy is one of the key directions in the development of modern air defense. Such technologies make it possible to respond more quickly to massive attacks and protect Ukrainian cities more effectively," said Ukrainian Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov Mykhailo Fedorov.
