.BJP’s latest diktat demanding that a photograph of Narendra Modi be placed inside Durga Puja pandals is nothing short of a SACRILEGE. Durga Puja is not a political spectacle. It is a celebration of devotion, culture, and the eternal triumph of good over evil. The pandal is sanctified space, where the presence of Maa Durga reigns supreme in the hearts of millions of devotees. To insist on placing a politician’s portrait alongside the Goddess is a grotesque distortion of faith and an attempt to deify the Prachar Mantri. This is a direct repudiation of our spiritual ethos. That BJP sought to trespass into this space of devotion reveals its contempt for Bengal’s cultural heritage. The people have spoken. The organisers have rejected this diktat. Faith will not be hijacked. Maa Durga cannot be overshadowed.

This sacred moment is a reminder that our journey is not merely political; it is a responsibility towards protecting harmony, upholding justice, and safeguarding the rights of our people. There are forces that seek to disturb this balance, to divide and weaken the social fabric of Bengal. But with the blessings of Maa Kali, and with faith in the people, we will stand firm against every such attempt. The recent derogatory remarks by TMC leader Anubrata Mondal against the family of a Police Officer are not just an attack on an individual but an insult to the dignity of all women in Bengal. This cannot be tolerated. Despite having a woman Chief Minister, the safety and honour of women remain under threat in West Bengal. From the RG Kar incident to the appalling language used by TMC leaders, it is clear that the ruling party has no regard for 'Nari Samman'. The people of Bolpur showed their strength and resolve today, joining us in thousands to demand justice and respect for women. The Nari Samman Yatra is not just a mere protest march; it is a movement to awaken the conscience of Bengal and hold those in power accountable.

Earlier, it was present in 390 locations, after the budget, 110 more centres will be added. Compensation for sewer deaths will be raised, and compensation for disability in the case of a sewer victim will be introduced. Surojit Nath Mitra will be appointed as the Advocate General of West Bengal. June 20 is to be celebrated as the Paschimbanga Diwas (West Bengal Day). On the auspicious occasion of Chaturthi, I inaugurated the Alipore Body Guard Lines and Suruchi Sangha Durga Pujos. Additionally, I virtually inaugurated over 412 puja pandals across various districts. Like every year, I also visited the Navanir Old Age Home, where I spent cherished moments. Today, I was reminded of the true spirit of Durga Puja, which symbolises the triumph of good over evil. I pray to Maa for the strength to banish all unholy forces as we remain united in her devotion.
