Kim: Yeah, look, I mean, first and foremost, especially when it comes to abuse, sexual abuse, and sexual assault, this should not be about politics at all. This is about people’s safety. It’s about making sure victims have justice and accountability, and that this doesn’t happen anymore. You know, I actually worked here when I was younger as a graduate student fellow. We should never allow any of that when it comes to the staff or anywhere else. People should feel safe here at the Capitol. Again, this is somewhere where I think we need to make sure we’re showing accountability. I’m going to do everything I can on the Democratic side to push in that direction and stand up, especially when it’s very clear that something is not in line with our values or our laws. I push Republicans to do the same. I wish I had greater sway on that side to be able to enforce that, but they need to step up more, and we all need to step up more to make it clear that this is unacceptable.

Today, Conservatives delivered a major victory to protect our children. After a lengthy Liberal filibuster, our Justice team was able to pass a motion compelling the government to bring forward a new law by the end of the year to address the outrageous Supreme Court decision to gut mandatory prison time for child sexual exploitation and abuse material charges. Conservatives will ALWAYS be on the side of protecting our children from predators.

It is important now more than ever that we do not let up in the fight for justice for these victims. I will continue to do everything in my power to hold these enablers accountable. I was honored to join Ro Khanna at a roundtable for survivors of Epstein to discuss how we can hold these perpetrators accountable and bring justice once and for all. We need to pass the Epstein Files Transparency Act. Now.

Within the next few years, 80% of our budget will not be voted on by Congress. That’s the track we’re on unless we pass my Comprehensive Congressional Budget Act.
