What was supposed to be a day of celebration for 250 years of American freedom turned into a horrifying sight in North Charleston. Two police officers were attacked and assaulted at a July 4th block party in the Chicora-Cherokee community. Three juveniles and one adult have been arrested in connection to the assault. Four firearms and a makeshift spear were recovered at the scene. More arrests are expected. Attacks on law enforcement are UNACCEPTABLE. Every person responsible must be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. We stand with the North Charleston Police Department and are relieved both officers are back on duty. Our law enforcement leave their homes every single day knowing they may not come home. On the Fourth of July, they left their families behind to protect their community. They were met with violence. Such a disgrace. God bless our men and women in blue. Protect them at all costs.

Today, South Carolina says goodbye to one of its own, Senator Lindsey Graham. Whether you agreed with him or not, when he walked into a room, the gloves were off. He loved America and he loved South Carolina. We didn't always agree, but we watched his fighting spirit up close. He fought for President Trump the way he fought for South Carolina, with everything he had, until his very last breath. Our hearts and prayers are with his family and staff. Rest easy, Senator.
