Today, I had an important conversation with UNITED24 ambassadors. We took stock of the funds raised for recovery. Andrii Shevchenko Andriy Shevchenko, Elina Svitolina Elina Monfils, Katheryn Winnik Katheryn Winnick, Oleksandr Usyk Oleksandr Usyk, Michel Hazanavicius, Brad Paisley Brad Paisley, Imagine Dragons Imagine Dragons — I thanked them all for uniting efforts for the sake of our people and infrastructure recovery. United24 has raised a total of over $500 million. These funds helped deliver thousands of drones, 200 high-quality intensive care vehicles, armored first aid vehicles, hundreds of generators for hospitals, and other equipment. Residential buildings and schools are under construction, and we already have rebuilt hospitals as well as a humanitarian mine clearing center. These millions of dollars have been provided by various donors—ordinary people as well as companies—from over a hundred countries. These opportunities are available to our state thanks to many Ukrainians and millions of citizens from other countries who believe in Ukraine and support us. The primary need is to end the war as quickly and justly as possible. Supporting my country might seem like an easy task, and it feels like it should be simple when living in another country... But in reality, not everyone can withstand it: how many of those who still continue to stand with Ukraine and Ukrainians are actually left? After all, years of war have passed here. To stand with Ukraine is to absorb everything like a sponge and let it all pass through you, to see the aftermath of shellings in Ukrainian cities, the tears of mothers and children-even if just through a phone screen-to feel and endure that deep emotional pain, to feel salty tears on your cheeks no matter how strong you are mentally and psychologically. All of this leaves its mark day after day, until the next new video from Ukraine. And not everyone can or will want to see that side of humanity. In the video are those very people, the residents of Ukraine. The people of my country. Supporting Ukraine means supporting precisely these people you see. Every single one of them has lost someone close to them, while the war is still raging in our country, and no one knows what the future holds for each of us...
