I love patina & rust on a really fast car. If it's slow I'd probably paint. 😊

If it was the inline-6 paint it and make it look cool, If it was the 289 spray it and make it cooler.

Seal that patina in. Gloss, satin, whatever. But that cannot be created.

Maybe just put a clear coat on it. And make it technically superb.

High school kids first car...this is how to do it. Let her decide what it needs. Get a job and fix it up? Or walk to school at the end of they year because she decided to let it go?

Rust doesn't stop. So something needs to be done.

They make every panel for mustangs, from door skins to hoods to fenders. I’d get it blasted and see what’s left under that rust. If you leave it alone and just paint or clearcoat it, it will rust into oblivion. Rust never sleeps.

Strip her down and paint her. Those cars are super underrated. Especially by those who have no understanding how they drive or handle.
