A perfect example of why progressive policies don’t work: In 2008 Chicago leased all of its parking meters to a foreign UAE company for 1.1 billion dollars to relieve some of their mounting debt. The lease is for 75 years and since the deal the UAE has already made 2 billion from the meters and will continue to make those billions for the next 60 years, money the Chicago tax payers will now have to replace.
