The event was co-chaired by the Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Pakistan and Mr. Liu Jianchao, Minister of International Department of the Communist Party of China. Maulana Fazl ur Rehman: There is a consensus in Pakistan regarding Pak-China relations. Pak-China friendship has always transcended our political differences. Pakistan attaches importance to peaceful co-existence and cooperative relations in the region and supports progress towards it. Pakistan believes in peaceful and equitable resolution of disputes. We are grateful that China has always supported Pakistan unconditionally on the Kashmir issue and Pakistan has also always supported China unconditionally on the Taiwan issue. Pak-China relations, which were mentioned by the speakers before me, is a shared vision of all of us and I am proud that JUI Pakistan and CPEC are friends and we want to make this friendship meaningful and see it beneficial for the people of both countries. The credit for the progress made in this regard also goes to the Parliament of Pakistan and the CPC when in 1995 the CPC (China) invited the Foreign Committee of the National Assembly of Pakistan and briefed us on the new economic vision.
