This is Roger. He was initially rescued from an LA shelter, but began collapsing once in his foster home. After the Badlands, we visited Bear Country USA, then had dinner at an arcade in Rapid City called “Press Start.” They make great pizza, have all kinds of games, and it is absolutely worth a stop. There's a huge problem in the trucking industry that nobody likes to talk about. I don't mind talking about it, though. I'm not going to hold back now. The FMCSA is a failure. They're allowing inexperienced drivers on our roads with your families. Some are here on work visas, and some are US citizens. How many people have to be injured or die before they start listening to us? Will you or a loved one be the next victim? I hope not. Trucking Across America with the Schmitts and I can fix this if you advocate for us.

Listen up! Us Ranchers want you to have affordable beef. We currently have that if it comes directly off the farm and you pay the processing and the Rancher. At today’s prices that’s still around $8-&10/lb for everything! Including steak. That endures that WE has profit! Which we often struggle to get , thus so many ranches gone now. If the solution is importing cheap scrap cuts without a LABEL showing country of origin, then that is not a solution at all! That will drive more American family ranches out of business and you will eventually pay even higher prices for shity beef! I hope their solution only involves splitting up the big corporate packers and opening opportunities for family ranchers.🥩

Let me explain in more detail, it’s a Poland border is a fucking concentration camp: 1) there are around 100 people with the same problem, shitty app isn’t working properly and shitload of drivers are stuck. 2) the fines are increased to 5,000 usd 3) all drivers are placed in one room without chairs, couches or places to sit. 4) there is no food or water 5) fine payments are only accepted in cash in place. 6) they aren’t letting out people to eat. 7) those who had cash and paid can’t prove they paid the fine, and they still not being let out. 8) our driver was brought there by police and has been there now for 3 hours without any progress. 9) there is no one to talk to and no one can help. 10) drivers phone is about to die 11) our driver is 70+ years old I need your help spreading this message Don’t get me wrong, this isn’t some mistake it’s a polish government policy to make as much problems for Ukrainians as possible.

She just found out that the company she works for lost the contract and they will all be out of a job in about a month. She found out from someone else, not the company that she works for. 🤯 She is considering just taking her load back and walking out. This happens quite often in the delivery service field. Companies like Amazon and Fed Ex deliveries are contracted out and if those contractors don’t meet certain standards they can lose the contract. 💯 It’s possible the new contractor will hire her but nothing is guaranteed. My son just went through this a couple of years ago and they did not hire most of the drivers over to the new company. Many people told her not to quit, to stick it out and to go apply with the new company asap. She said if they don’t hire her it is just wasted time in getting a new job. She’s upset because she feels it is disrespectful of her company not to let them know personally and give them time to find a new job. I wouldn’t make matters worse. She needs the money. Your baby thrives on predictability. Specifically, yours. This week I’ve been talking about attachment, which holds long lasting consequences for your child’s mental and physical health (not to mention their cognitive development). Secure attachments in infancy occur when parents’ interactions with their babies are: Warm. Responsive. Safe. And consistently so. I’ve shared lots of important tips in the past. Tips on reading to your child. Tips on play. Tips on language development. But I want to be clear that attachment has nothing to do with the number of toys or books in your home. Or how well you interact most of the time. Attachment is a product of your predictability. It’s how you interact EVERY time. It’s what you teach your child to expect from you as their caregiver. Inconsistency in the way adults interact with children - warm and responsive one day and potentially cold and distracted the next - is detrimental to secure attachment. When children don’t know what to expect from day to day, it creates anxiety. And this activates the body’s stress response systems. Continually. This is one reason that it’s so important for parents to thoughtfully manage their own stress, exhaustion, safety, and mental health needs. When you aren’t at your best for yourself, you likely won’t be at your best for your baby. As an aside, consistency is also why I’ve spoken out about viral social media trends that undermine trust and predictability by inserting chaotic behaviors into the parent-child relationship. Several months ago - if you can believe it - it was unexpectedly cracking open an egg on your child’s forehead. This week it seems to be throwing slices of American cheese at/onto your baby’s head/face. (I wish I was making this up.) While it’s easy for us as to dismiss such behaviors as jokes, to young children they are detrimental for precisely the reason some adults may find them funny: they’re unexpected. But when your otherwise kind and attentive parent randomly acts with callousness - if even for a moment - it breaks a stable pattern. It provides a new data point that suggests you may be warm and caring… but also may not be dependably. And this is precisely what undermines attachment. (The good news is that an otherwise stable attachment is unlikely to be permanently disrupted by one dumb mistake. We all make them. Still… don’t. Just don’t.) Be kind, be responsive, and do it predictably. I’ll never share the kind of videos I described above. Driving through Aurora, Colorado today reminded me of the times I lived in South America on and off for around 6 years. Often the people that walk around selling in or cleaning windows in traffic are aggressive, forceful, and pose as threats to passengers. First of all we have windshield wipers!! Secondly we don't need people looking through our windows to see what they can find coercing people for all the spare cash they have. In Latin America this is normal everywhere. Random people charging you for parking in public space, to sit down to eat at a restaurant they send in their kids to guilt you, or like this at a stop light, to be safe we have to pay them? This behavior isn't a favor or honest work, its a "pay me not to rob you," kind of deal.

I know a lot of people hate on AI. I get it. Be creative. But for those of use who can't draw or animate, this is more of a quick and cheap fix. and there's nothing wrong with that. I wish others were more open about sharing what they've learned using AI and not hoard their knowledge like it's worth gold. The only way we can learn and improve is if others share what they've learned. I understand people are protective of what prompts they use. Ok fine, don't share them. But you can't even give a tip? Like "add this phrase to the prompt for better [fill in the blank]" or "use [blank] for a more realistic atmosphere]. Just pisses me off. I'm happy to share all I've learned with anyone who askes. Drivers load from Circle to Old Station, drop, reload to Mile 7, drop, reload again and each stop means another payment.
