Parliament's Chief Exec has confirmed he discussed my request for a meeting with the PO last Thursday – therefore it's not true for Alison Johnstone to say she was unaware. A member who makes an incorrect statement must correct the record. I believe this also applies to the PO.

Alison Johnstone has been caught making a false statement in chamber while claiming neutrality. The Presiding Officer is meant to uphold the integrity of Parliament — not degrade it. If she doesn’t correct the record immediately, resignation is the only honourable course. This isn’t a partisan moment. It’s about truth and integrity — and right now, both are gone.

The BBC has a long history of shoddy “journalism” & bias. In October 2019, I was invited to give my views following the closure of Operation Midland & subsequent Henriques Report - not to sit through a Metropolitan Police press statement. Then Naga Munchetty incorrectly claimed Cressida Dick had been cleared by the IOPC & Henriques - she wasn’t even interviewed let alone cleared! When I tried to correct the record, I was interrupted in case I said something “potentially incorrect”. The irony speaks for itself.

Yesterday, May 19, I arrived for a visit with Marwan Barghouti — a meeting that had been scheduled more than a month ago. I was expecting to ask him what he had gone through over the past month, and what kind of torture he had suffered at the hands of this criminal regime and the violent, criminal IPS prison guards. The guards told me and another lawyer who was waiting there to go home, because we would not be able to enter today. So I drove back for more than two hours again — about five hours in total, for nothing, without meeting my client. I need to clear the air on this… I apologized to the military not because I said what they claimed I said, but because of how she interpreted my statement. At no point, and nowhere, did I say that the entire military is corrupt. My apology was simply for the way my statement was interpreted. It does not mean I accepted or agreed with what the lady claimed I said. Let’s separate an apology for a misunderstanding from accepting words that were never spoken.
