This is one of the last videos I have of my sister, it’s from 2006 when we went hiking in Zion. I wish I would’ve taken more video knowing that she was going be gone two years later. The would have’s and should have’s kill me at times. I try to focus on continuing to live life so she can experience it thru my eyes, as if she’s still here, seeing it via my eyes. She was a ball of energy and always so fun and lively. Grateful the memories we got to experience. Remember to make the most of the moments you have with the people you care about.

When I see football crowds watching a game, I see the society I want to live in: people of all backgrounds supporting their team and each other, cheering together, laughing together, crying together. “Eight games is the maximum any nation can play at this World Cup. But however many we play, the whole tournament is a chance to create that magical feeling of unity, to lift each other's spirits and to show what we are capable of. “I am done with hatred, done with division and done with misplaced anger. Yes, our brilliant football teams may not win. But we can. We can win.”

When I got my first job at a restaurant in Bode Thomas, Surulere, Lagos, I truly understood what it meant to work. I had no clearly defined role. You simply did whatever needed to be done. One minute you were attending to customers, the next you were cleaning, serving, taking orders, or helping in another department. And all of that was for a salary of ₦21,000. At that time, it was necessary for my survival, so I embraced it. Looking back now, I realise that season gave me much more than a paycheck. It taught me discipline, humility, attention to detail, and most importantly, customer relations. It taught me how to treat people, how to solve problems, and how to serve with excellence. Many of the things I know about business and customer experience today were first learnt in that small restaurant in Surulere. Sometimes, the jobs and seasons we are eager to outgrow are quietly preparing us for the future we cannot yet see. #Tadé

This is one of the wildest things I have built with AI so far 😱 Asked Claude Fable 5 to create a fully interactive 3D crime investigation board using Three.js and it did it in ONE Prompt. It took one more prompt to give it a polished UI inspired by a reference design that I created with GPT Image. What surprised me most was not how it looked. It was how it worked. Fable built a complete Verlet rope physics system with 46 particles in every thread. It handled gravity, damping, distance constraints and all other features of file upload, text and everything. The threads/ropes even lift naturally with pinned evidence instead of clipping through it. I never asked it to implement any of that. I only described the experience I wanted. Maybe that's how we should work with AI. Instead of writing long long specs, we should explain what we want as an experience and let AI do its thing. Anyway, every day Fable 5 raises the bar for what I think AI can build. More to this Live: Code:

One of the toughest games I played as a kid was Aztec Challenge on the Commodore 64 (1983). My friend had it, and we played it nonstop until the disk was basically worn out. His dad used to brag that you fight a Pharaoh at the very end. We believed him because we never got that far! Turns out there was no Pharaoh, it was just a fun story to impress us kids. Back then, I wasn't aware that most 80s games didn’t really "end." They just looped back to the start after the last level. But at the time we never reached the end, and I'd be surprised if more than 1% did. It was one of the first games I played, and it made me rage-quit a lot. The levels looked simple, but they were brutally hard. You needed crazy fast reflexes to survive. That horrible piranha death sound still gives me flashbacks!

Someone took this challenge very seriously. Programmers were asked to design the worst user experience imaginable, and apparently some of them approached it with the dedication of a Nobel Prize project. The goal was to make software confusing, frustrating, and almost impossible to use. Mission accomplished. And that is exactly what makes it so entertaining, because by exaggerating everything wrong with bad design, these creations become a perfect parody of user experience gone horribly wrong. The uncomfortable part is that after looking at a few of them, I started recognizing features from real workplace tools. At some point, parody and enterprise software become difficult to tell apart. My cousins and my brother and I were exploring Coney Island, we saw the sights, hung out at the arcades and before we went back to the apartment we decided to go and get something to eat, we had some money on us but not much so we decided to see what we could get at one of the vendors. This was back in the early 90’s when most of them had dollar slices of pizza wherever we went. So we got 4 pieces of pizza, should have been $4 because that’s the price we were used to. The guy wanted to charge us $24 at $6 a slice. We argues with him because one of my cousins already took a bite being so hungry. But at the least we owed $4. We gave the other slices back and refused them but had to pay for the partially eaten one, it was embarrassing that an adult would try that on a bunch of kids. We told our uncle what happened and he went back and yelled at the vendor. He was familiar with them because he used to get slices all the time from the same guy and he never charged my uncle that price. I couldn’t imagine paying that exurban amount, like this guy who was being charged $54 for a hotdog by one of the vendors. At first he thought it was a typo and it was $5.40 but the vendor. Learned it up when he said no it was $54. Would you have paid that amount? I would have walked away, clearly he was trying to possibly scam a the man for looking like a tourist. Part of the experience when visiting a new area is the street food but it’s becoming more and more a chore avoiding places like this.

John McTiernan on how he learnt moviemaking by watching 'Day for Night' (1972): "I remember when I decided that that's what I was going to do. I went about it like it was reverse engineering. I knew that I had to go and learn what a movie was, not just my experience of going and watching a movie. So I went and sat in Truffaut's Day for Night (1972), watched it for three days straight, eight hours at a time and memorized it shot-for-shot. I got past the story, all the original and secondary experience, so I could study what it was that I was really watching. Film is really sort of a chain that's really linear. Yet when it's all strung together, it just sort of feels like an experience. It takes quite a while to be able to deconstruct that experience to figure out what you really saw." (John McTiernan's interview with Alex Simon, The Hollywood Interview, 1999)

My brother and I have shared a dream of making music and touring the world together since we were kids. Somehow, after years of hard work, and a stubborn and relentless pursuit, what once seemed an impossible idea became our reality. And we are so grateful for that. A sixth album? Absolutely incredible! 🙏🏼 It doesn’t escape us how fortunate we are in being able to create music and perform all over the world for you, and we do not take it for granted. We hope you can feel the spirit of adventure and the celebration that is “It’s the End of the World but It’s a Beautiful Day.” Who knows…maybe you’ll even find a piece of yourself in it. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for the faith, for the loyalty, and for the love. Jared and Shannon

They don't have to talk to each other, even. They know exactly what they want to do. They want to go out there, kill and make money. But the people in the Peace Industry, which are us - we are so idealistic that each one of us criticises the other Peace Person in the Peace Industry. And we are always just arguing and we are wasting our energies doing that. So let's just forgive each other and see that we are in the Peace Industry and that's all that counts. Even if you are not marching for peace, just be yourself, being a florist, being a merchant, being a talior, anything. That way you're contributing to the Peace Industry. People are just concentrating on fear, confusion and anger. And therefore just for a moment, I'd like us to think about Love. In a very magical, straight way, John and I met in London and from then on we stood for Peace and Love. And when I do this kind of event. Well it is... I was inspired to do it, but I still think that I'm still with John in spirit. John and I created the country called Nutopia. Not Utopia, because there was Utopia as a concept already. And we wanted to create a new concept, so we just added N on it - Nutopia - and as a country. Well, that is the concept of a country. And we all are citizens of that country. And in my apartment in the Dakota Building, we put a little plaque on the back door, the kitchen door. It says 'Nutopian Embassy' and even now we have that. (laughs). Nutopia exists in our minds. And because of that, some people want to rebel against it. The reason some want to rebel against it is a good proof that it exists. I think that it was a terrible thing that happened in Chechnya. But we have to still keep our hopes up. And instead of giving up, we have to keep on sending the message of Love to each other. You say that I am the Ambassador of Peace. We are all Ambassadors of Peace. You are too. Everybody in this room are Ambassadors of Peace. Just the fact that we are not participating in War. The fact that we are here, and we are what we are, means that we are in the Peace Industry. All of us. John and I used to say that our apartment in the Dakota is a conceptual monastry, just for the two of us. And when we go out of the Dakota, we get so many people communicating with us, so it's very important that we had silence and quietness. And my apartment is a very small space compared to the world. And I need that for my peace of mind. You should be kind to each other. You should come together, hug each other, love each other, express our love to each other and we should make it work. We should finally create a world that is a totally an Earth for Us. So let's do it. And because of that, some people want to rebel against it. The reason some want to rebel against it is a good proof that it exists. I think that it was a terrible thing that happened in Chechnya. But we have to still keep our hopes up. And instead of giving up, we have to keep on sending the message of Love to each other. You say that I am the Ambassador of Peace. We are all Ambassadors of Peace. You are too. Everybody in this room are Ambassadors of Peace. Just the fact that we are not participating in War. The fact that we are here, and we are what we are, means that we are in the Peace Industry. All of us. John and I used to say that our apartment in the Dakota is a conceptual monastry, just for the two of us. And when we go out of the Dakota, we get so many people communicating with us, so it's very important that we had silence and quietness. And my apartment is a very small space compared to the world. And I need that for my peace of mind. You should be kind to each other. You should come together, hug each other, love each other, express our love to each other and we should make it work. We should finally create a world that is a totally an Earth for Us. So let's do it.
