Armenia's PM Pashinyan on territorial claims: We should not look for Armenia not only in Azerbaijan, but also in Türkiye. We should not look for Armenia in Iran. We should not look for Armenia in Georgia, for two main rational reasons. Journalist asks State Dept Spox about an article accusing the US of interfering in the South Caucasus for its own geopolitical interests. "That's absolutely untrue...America's goal is to ensure a lasting peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan, and to ensure the humanitarian needs of the civilians in Nagorno-Karabakh are met." First point: there are less than 50 Armenian civilians in Nagorno-Karabakh. Azerbaijan successfully ethnically cleansed it, in large part because Azerbaijan faced no objection from the "international community" in doing so. And this non-answer is especially maddening after a half hour of spox explaining that US has and will continue to send Israel military aid and defending Israel's large-scale attacks on civilian settlements by saying, "any country would do this if they saw children being slaughtered and hostages being taken." But we did see this from Azerbaijan during its 2020 war on Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh. The US didn't send Armenia military aid to fight its invader, Azerbaijan, or condemn Azerbaijan; it called on both sides to de-escalate. And the US continues to send Azerbaijan military aid.
