That’s DPI all day. Defender never plays the ball, hooks the arm and rides him off his line. If that’s “letting them play,” then receivers might as well stop running routes. You can’t call that in the first quarter and swallow it late. Consistency is the issue, not the rule itself. Pats finally make a clutch play and it gets decided by vibes instead of flags. How is a WR supposed to win there?
