@RepThomasMassie Why do we have to pass a law to “grant” a right the supreme law of the land already protects? Federal, state, and local actors need to be prosecuted for violating the Constitution!

That's not the issue. The issue is when I use the arms to defeat a feral minority who's trying to kill me because I'm White. My state will send me to prison regardless of justification.

Government begging government to not infringe on so called rights. If the government can infringe them, their privileges not rights. You don’t have a right to bear arms if government decides if you can bear them.

@RepThomasMassie Article 4 Section 2 The Citizens of each State shall be entitled to all Privileges and Immunities of Citizens in the several States. We need State governments that once agreed to be part of the union and adhere to the Constitution to follow it.

I am a support of both Paul and Massie, but I tire of the titles like, "Honorable". Why are any of you "honorable" just be cause you are servant politicians? The irony is that far too many of you are "dishonorable", because you are elected politicians.

All laws repugnant to the constitution shall be ignored.... any gun laws you write is invalid as well as 90% of the laws enforced... we live in an occupied nation.

First, file a bill to repeal the NFA and the GCA of 1968. Until that is done an a national carry act only means that we have permission from the fed. gov. to carry in every state in the union. U.S. Cs should not have to ask for permission to enjoy a right given by God.

Which is more likely killed by the government or killed by a stranger? Killed by the government is more likely. You are following laws that are designed to allow them to kill you; when they want because you stand no chance of stopping them. Weapons are demilitarized for this very reason arguing with the government what rights you have when they know your rights and not care is redundancy.

Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) @RepThomasMassie introduced H.R. 645, the National Constitutional Carry Act. This bill would make permitless carry the law of the land in all 50 states, D.C., and U.S. territories. ⚫️ No more criminal penalties, fees, or barriers for law-abiding Americans who want to carry in public. The Founders didn’t write “shall not be infringed” so we could be disarmed by hostile state bureaucrats when we cross a state line. ⚫️ Sen. Mike Lee (R-UT) @BasedMikeLee just introduced the Senate companion - it’s time for Congress to act. ⚫️ The right to keep and bear arms isn’t a privilege - it’s a constitutional guarantee. Support national constitutional carry and tell your reps to back H.R. 645! #2A #ConstitutionalCarry #Massie #ShallNotBeInfringed Link: Contact your representatives:

I agree with Senator Paul 99% of the time but I disagree here. States should have the right to govern themselves, if it’s abortion or gun laws. The people in California should be allowed to govern themselves no matter how stupid they are, but they should not be allowed to govern people in say Alabama, that is for those people who live in Alabama.

I appreciate this effort greatly, but it is an indictment on our great country. We already have a National Constitutional Carry Act. That is..the 2nd Amendment. Thus, we should rightly be putting effort into prosecuting jurisdictions and judges that don’t recognize it rather than writing more legislation.

Yes. Congress, pass the national carry act & stop infringing on our God given rights to protect ourselves &follow the guarantee of the constitution. Mankind has a propensity to do wrong. That' s why God gave us the wise 10 commandments. Shall not murder, lie, foricate, covet, etc

No need. A settled law need not be mentioned "the right of the People to keep and bear arms" now, go after those who violate that contract including ATF

we should have the right to carry uninfringed. Free men do not ask permission no?

Honest question: What's the point? Passing this "law" would create the impression that a future Congress has the authority to repeal it. That's the whole effing point of having a Constitution.

@RepThomasMassie I kind of feel like “A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.” already does that but by all means get it done.

Yesterday, our Judiciary Committee passed HR 38, National Reciprocity. I support this bill, but there is a better option, and it is National Constitutional Carry. 29 states already have Constitutional (i.e. permitless) Carry. Why not extend it to all 50 states? Under HR 38 (Reciprocity), a resident of one of the Constitutional Carry states can carry in any state that allows their citizens to obtain a permit. The recent “Bruen” Supreme Court decision requires all states that aren’t Constitutional Carry to issue carry permits to their citizens. This means that when HR 38 passes, any resident of those 29 Constitutional Carry states will be able to carry in any of the 50 states without a permit. Ironically, however, residents of the 21 states (like New York or California) that aren’t Constitutional Carry will need a permit to carry in their own state, while visitors from states that are Constitutional Carry (like Kentucky or Ohio) won’t need a permit to carry in states like New York or California. If Congress, relying on the Second Amendment, can force California to allow “Permitless” Carry for Kentuckians who visit California, why would we not force California to allow “Permitless” Carry for Californians who are in California? In other words, why not pass National Constitutional Carry and afford everyone in the United States the right to “bear arms” which is enshrined in the Constitution? The other quirk of HR 38 is that (I believe) it would allow a person from Kentucky to carry an AR-15 pistol with a 20-round magazine in California, while Californians would not be allowed to carry, or even own, the same equipment. The Supreme Court decision in “D.C. v. Heller,” whether you agree with it or not, allows states to have some regulations on firearm equipment and eligibility to possess, but HR 38 seems to contradict that framework. Contrast this with my National Constitutional Carry bill which basically says if a state allows people to possess (KEEP) a particular firearm, that state must also allow people to carry (BEAR) that firearm. I introduced my National Constitutional Carry bill in committee yesterday as a substitute amendment to HR 38, National Reciprocity. After introducing the amendment for the record and describing it, I withdrew the amendment instead of putting my Judiciary Committee colleagues in the position of deciding whether to replace National Reciprocity with National Constitutional Carry. The dilemma is that not enough Republicans in the whole House understand the difference, and the prevailing opinion is that Reciprocity can pass the whole House, but Constitutional Carry cannot. Perhaps when more of my colleagues who are not on the Judiciary Committee understand why we should pass National Constitutional Carry instead of (or in addition to) National Reciprocity, we can make a strong push to report National Constitutional Carry out of the Judiciary Committee for a vote in the full House of Representatives. In the meantime, I’m glad HR 38 is going to the House floor for a vote.
