I Actually Want the Crypto Market to Crash, Here’s Why Everyone is praying for crypto to pump. I'm hoping for the exact opposite, and here's why. People are waiting for the CLARITY Act to pass and the Fed to cut rates so crypto explodes. I want it delayed. Keep the market down a little longer. Here's why that sounds crazy but isn't. You sit down to study. your intent is clear: study. but you know distractions will flood in non-stop, and there's almost nothing you can do but wait them out. 2. it's not random noise. there are little subsystems inside you that want something else. one wants a sandwich. one wants a cigarette. one suddenly needs to clean under the bed. they pop up and fight you for control. 3. they get sneaky too. you'll start thinking "this is a stupid course. why am i even in university. what's the point of life." you can really get going when you're trying to avoid your homework. 4. so ask yourself. you took the course. you told yourself to sit down. why don't you listen? the honest answer is you're a mess. you don't have control over yourself at all. 5. and the less put-together you are, the less you run these systems and the more they run you. it can get badly out of hand. 6. you've felt it elsewhere. attracted to someone you don't even want to be attracted to. texting them late at night when you know you should be asleep. in the grip of something you can't control.

ex-jane street trader on where small traders can still find edge: "are there going to be inefficiencies in the market, pockets in the pink sheets or something, where it's just not worth a large successful company's trader time to look? yes. those will always exist. and they'll get slowly competed away by mom-and-pop trading operations, or former jane street traders at home doing it for fun." if you are looking for pure inefficiencies you have to go where there is less competition.

The biggest lesson in my career: Trading less = earning more. As the week begins, I like to remind myself that if the setup isn't A+, then it isn't a setup. It is so easy to get caught up in overtrading and see mediocre setups eat up an account due to a lack of patience. As Jessie Livermore said, “Money is made by sitting, not trading.” The true winning trades will show themselves. Developing the strength to wait for the optimal setup is an art that must be practiced every single trading session.
