Story time! 😭 I’m still shocked. Hindi pa rin ako makapaniwala na nabigyan ako ng ganitong opportunity to perform on stage with the hitman, Mr. David Foster. So pag akyat ko ng stage dapat mag soundcheck na ako for my spot, pero nagulat ako Sir David is playing the piano. Then he ask me kung suot ko na inears ko kasi pwede daw namin itry yung song. Nagulat ako sabi ko sa utak ko “what song?” So na pa “huh” ako then sabi niya all by myself give it a try daw. Bilang lutang ako sa sobrang gulat kinanta ko lang siya kung pano ko siya kinakanta. Ive always wanted to post this whole conversation.. BIANCA' S PARENTS MUST HAVE AVAILED THE LIVESTREAM.. THATS WHY THEY NEVER judged DUSTIN. I really wished navideohan ko yung expression ni Gwen when I showed her one paper bag before photo op, she was requesting na ibgay ko na sa stage. PERO walang tatalo sa expression niya (and the other girls) nung pinakita ko na lahat ng paper bags sa kanya. Although, I wasn’t able to personally give her all the gifts sa stage, the way she was concerned and looking at me habang nilalagay ko lahat sa box and the way na nagpathank you siya with those eyes nung nasa likod nea nako during photo op makes all the effort all worth it. For the past few days, we noticed how happy she is and I’m really hoping na magtuloy tuloy yun (career, lovelife, health, etc.). At sa mga may plano din magbgay sa kanya in the future, pawatch na lang yung video para mkita niyo yung mga vinyls na naibgay ko at iwas dumoble. Out of the 24 jeepney drivers, I always make sure not to cry hearing their stories, but this one… this was the time that I could not control my emotions and tears anymore… Hearing his story really broke my heart. I still remember when we gave him the rice, he said, “Salamat ma’am, dadalhin ko po ito pauwi sa Martes.” I was confused, why Tuesday? Bakit hindi mamayang gabi pag uwi? And then I found out that he goes home to Laguna once a week to save money, and what really broke my heart is that he sleeps in his jeep at night just to have some rest… and from earning 1k, naging 300 na lang? Hindi ko talaga napigilan sarili ko. Ang sakit lang isipin na ganito yung reality ng iba na kailangan nilang tiisin yung pagod, gutom, at lungkot just to survive and provide for their family. Yung simpleng bagay para sa atin, sobrang laki na para sa kanila. It made me realize how blessed we are and how important it is to continue helping in any way we can. Hindi lang ito about giving, but also about understanding their struggles and being present for them kahit sa maliit na paraan. That moment will stay with me. It reminded me why we do this, why we should never stop, and what kind of community we are.
