The answer isn’t so simple; we cannot rationally argue people out of their irrational political persuasions. People become magical thinkers not because they’re nuts, but because of the pain that comes with being abandoned by the system. Their pain, which their rrational beliefs are grounded in, is real—and we should not deny it.
