@jaeporeon This is nuts. Data centers are bad because they use up energy and water far disproportionately to their benefit to communities. Sustainable energy projects are good because they lower energy costs and help communities add resilience.

The guests made really dumb points that seemed to originate from an AI company press release. No for-profit corporation would ever disclose an accurate list of pros and cons (assets vs. liabilities or disadvantages). That would be bad for business. New data centers are being built to consolidate the system of control. The real question is, how many data centers currently exist of which people are completely unaware? (I have worked in at least two. Most have no outside signage whatsoever.)
