People are shocked when I present the psych data showing that boys learn empathy and caring for the needs of others primarily from their fathers, not their mothers. Daniel Grose (from IG) shows how fathers form it. ⬆️ time boys spend with dad = ⬆️ boy’s empathy. #DadsMatter

If empathy is coded "feminine," then boys will not want to develop it. It's cool that this father is thinking ahead of what his wife and children will need from him as he gets home--and mentally preparing to meet those needs.

It makes sense. Boys learn from men how to be men. If they only see empathy from women, they "learn" that it is not part of the male kit. That's hard to UNlearn.

Good dad. The power of ‘dig deep’ to breathe life, confidence, and purpose into a young boy can’t be understated. We need dads who tell us ‘this is going to be tough. But you are tougher.’ Imagine the toughest guy you know telling you you are tough? That’s the power of Dad.

This is what strong male leadership is and does. It is a privilege to honor it.

Wow. High school classmate of mine! What’s IG?

Instagram.

What a great moment. Showing his son that it is a joy to be responsible for caring for a wife and children; that it's a privilege to be spent and yet deny yourself still more to love and serve. This is peak masculinity

Love that! ♥️

Yes, but not all of us grow up in a family. We all don't live in an ideal world. However, only through Jesus and knowing God as Father, can all that muck become restored.

Nail on head.
