People usually talk about Heats when discussing Armageddon (and rightly so, Heats is so fucking good) But it’s kind of sad how Ima da Sono Toki da tends to get overlooked It’s such a genuinely powerful opening; Getter-1 feels so overwhelming and Shin itself seems so vampiric+

For me, that war anthem vibe is what best sells the whole context behind the impulsive and dangerously confident behavior of the Getter pilots

god I love ima ga sono toki da for a while I actually preferred it over Heats

ima da sono toki really does capture really does capture Imagawa's feel so well; the first 3 episodes of armageddon had a kind of darker feel to it and i always wonder what armageddon would have been like had Imagawa directed the whole series.

Because it sang by Ichirou Mizuki (the amazing and powerful voice) RIP Aniki

I think both are great at selling the vibe of the episodes they're used for, I just kinda like the show that the first few episodes were selling a bit more than the later bunch

Heats feels too heroic and hopeful which is not what Getter is. Getter's supposed to be neutral blind justice type, ffs it takes advantage of its pilot to become addicted to it basically.
