Steak bites and Potatoes Using steak bites, season with salt, pepper & garlic In a cast iron pan of high heat, sear steak in 1tbsp oil for 3-5 minutes until it hits your desired doneness Remove steak and add in a bag of yellow potatoes that have been cut in 114 Season with salt, pepper, garlic and paprika Cook over medium heat for 5-7 minutes until potatoes are tender Add steak back in, 1 stick of butter, 4 cloves garlic, 2 tbsp parsley, 1 tbsp thyme, 1 tbsp rosemary and a pinch of red pepper flakes Stir over low until the butter melts and everything is coated well Serve and enjoy!! 🎥 g_bque | IG

#PiePatrol: The Pepper Steak Pie Face-off! 🥧 Oriental Pies The City of Bulawayo VS. Surrey Group . Today I travelled to Marondera on a mission: to settle the score between Surrey and Oriental in the battle of the Pepper Steak Pies. I had already sampled Oriental’s attempt,a generously meaty effort but missing that vital pepper sting. The pastry, though thinner, lacked that golden-brown finish and flaky bite true pie lovers crave. Then I met Surrey’s Pepper Steak pie. Just look at that pastry bronzed, craggy, inviting,a pie that looks like it means business. The first crack through the crust was a satisfying crunch, giving way to tender beef wrapped in a rich, peppery gravy that hit all the right notes. The pepper wasn’t overwhelming, but it made its presence known with a steady, warming kick that Oriental’s version sadly lacked. Both pies bring serious meat to the table, but Surrey takes the pastry and flavour battle hands down. This pie had momentum ,each bite drawing you deeper, the pepper building gently, the beef melting beautifully into that perfect gravy. Final verdict: 7.5/10 Surrey wins the Pepper Steak showdown — and it wasn’t even close.
