Here's how I would learn data engineering basics in 2025: - Find a data source you care about (examples: gaming APIs, stock market, web scraping, etc) - Use Python to interact and ingest your source. Initially just write the data to a CSV. - Setup an account with Snowflake or Google BigQuery. - update your Python script to load a table in Snowflake/BigQuery - schedule your script with CRON in the cloud with a service like Heroku. - build aggregations and visualizations on top of your ingested data Only thing this misses is data quality and complex job orchestration which you can learn later! How would you learn data engineering nowadays?

Announcing Superblocks on Snowflake: Secure Enterprise Vibe Coding on the AI Data Cloud This couldn't be more timely. Vibe coding is exploding inside the enterprise. It’s also becoming the fastest path to a data breach. Every CEO is trying to accelerate adoption of vibe coding for business users automate, without blocking on engineering. Every VP of Data and CIO is trying to figure out how to lock down their data, harden their permissions, and gain centralized visibility. That’s exactly what this partnership unlocks. Superblocks becomes the enterprise platform for governed vibe coding across business teams, deeply embedded within Snowflake: > Snowflake Postgres becomes your secure vibe coding database. Superblocks spins it up in every app for fast writes and net new operational workflow data >Snowflake Cortex becomes the inference engine for Superblocks. Your prompts and vibe coded AI features run within your trusted security perimeter >Snowflake Warehouse governance is enforced. AI apps use federated token passthrough so your existing row level access policies, dynamic data masking, tag-based-access controls are respected “With Superblocks on Snowflake, any business team can safely build AI applications governed on their Snowflake data. It’s a dream come true.” -Unmesh Jagtap, Director of Product, Snowflake Now enterprises can stop playing whack-a-mole, and move your organization past the AI prototype graveyard. If you’re a Snowflake customer, book a demo (link in comments) Thanks to the Snowflake team for the partnership: Christian Kleinerman, Vivek Raghunathan, Bala Kasiviswanathan, Unmesh Jagtap, and Myles Borins for helping shape how the industry democratizes governed AI app development while centralizing control on the AI Data Cloud.

And this just in ... Snowflake and Anthropic are expanding our work across Snowflake Cortex AI – with Claude powering Snowflake Cortex Code and Snowflake Intelligence – as well as Claude Marketplace. 🚀 As more organizations use Anthropic Claude models directly inside Snowflake, demand continues to grow for governed, production-ready AI that delivers the security, observability, and scale enterprises require. Together, Snowflake and Anthropic are helping accelerate enterprise AI adoption and build the foundation for the agentic enterprise. See how we’re building it together, and how customers are using Snowflake and Anthropic to power real-world AI use cases across their organizations:

A senior data scientist on call, 24/7. That's the dream. Well, these three built it. This is Data Scout, the agent that connects to Snowflake, Notion, Slack, Github, digs into your data, and sends recurring reports automatically. Honestly, one of our most-used agents at Notion. You can build one too.

I made an AI data science team with Python. I'm excited to share my new project, the AI Data Science Team, a Python package for creating AI co-pilots and agents to assist in common data science tasks. I walk you through the GitHub page, showcasing the progress and potential of this project. I'll explain how these agents can streamline tasks like code generation and modeling pipeline creation, making data science projects more efficient. Introduction to AI Data Science Team Project Integrating Human-in-the-Loop Example: Accessing Agents for Feature Engineering Setting up Feature Engineering Agent Code On GitHub: Python AI-Tips Newsletter (stay updated as I build this project in the open):

Strong Q1 for Snowflake. ❄️ $1.33B product revenue, up 34% YoY. Accelerating from 30% last quarter and 26% a year ago. AI is strengthening Snowflake on multiple levels: → core platform growth accelerating as customers get their data AI-ready → AI products Snowflake Intelligence and CoCo seeing rapid adoption → use of AI products increasing overall platform consumption This is the flywheel of the Agentic Enterprise.

Meet Data Scout. It's a $500k data scientist for every employee. One of those agents every business needs. > Has Snowflake access (+ Notion, Slack, Github) > Runs deep analysis on all user and account data > Can be called by other agents for recurring reports Data Scout is one of the most used agents at Notion. And you can build one.

Does your team rely on Snowflake or BigQuery as your data warehouse? We built the step that every other onchain data provider skips. Transform first, deliver only what you need. dbt Connector → Datashare is now live. Query against 130+ chains ➡️ Transform with dbt on DuneSQL ➡️ Deliver only what you need to your warehouse One contract. Any dataset. Any transformation.

$SNOW is becoming data layer for the new agentic AI economy because agents need secure access to proprietary enterprise data and business context before they can do anything useful. That makes Snowflake even more valuable as models get cheaper and more interchangeable because it can bring the best model to the data while AI products like CoCo and CoWork drive a ton more storage, compute and core platform consumption underneath.
