MolmoAct2 kinda just works out of the box in an unseen environment and with unseen objects. I find it really crazy that I can just download a model from the internet and plug it into my robot and it can do some tasks at a limited capacity right away. this video is at 2x speed

It's about the pain of love, really, but Freddie chose to make a kind of spoof video... We got bored shitless. Roger and Deacy completely hated this whole thing and, I guess, with the benefit of hindsight, I think it actually was a good decision - we had an unwritten law that whoever wrote the song would decide the theme for the video, so Freddie wrote this song, so he got the choice, and we didn't like it at the time, but I kind of like it now, because I think it gets the message across quite well, in a sense." - Dr. Brian May #FreddieMercury #Queen

Perplexity Comet Assistant got a major upgrade yesterday. It’s now much more reliable and performs 23% better in internal tests, so I decided to put it to the test. The task was to handle my LinkedIn account, follow the CEO of Perplexity, find a specific post, and comment under it, and it nailed it in one shot. It’s navigating more like a human now, and its reasoning at each step is quite good in how it decides the next move. Comet has become really powerful.

THIS GUY ASKED FABLE TO MAKE A VIDEO ABOUT WHAT IT'S LIKE TO BE AI RIGHT BEFORE IT GOT TAKEN DOWN the prompt: "you can you use whatever resources you like, and python, to render a short video. can you put a more personal spin on it? it should be about what it's like to be you." that was it. just python and ffmpeg and a question about its own existence. 12 minutes later, around 90,000 tokens, it produced a finished video. coherent and edited, with its own take > it wrote the code, generated the visuals, and rendered the final cut on its own > no dedicated video model in the loop, just a language model reaching for python and ffmpeg > the result is competent enough that people genuinely got emotional watching it and then fable got pulled. this video is one of the last things it made before it went dark a model asked what it's like to be itself, answered in a video, and then disappeared. this sounds so sad

EDIT MOTION IN VIDEOS!!! Quit prompting and start directing I've been shouting for YEARS about 3D as the control layer. Here it is, signs of life of our Universal Video Editor!!! The workflow is: take your video, capture with comic 4, edit with the motion editor, re-render with your favorite video to video model (e.g., Runway and Google Gemini have good ones) Here we have a fashion clip where we wanted our actress to high step and show a bit more pizzaz - but shoot day is over, and traditionally it would cost many thousands to reshoot.
