I did my carpentry apprenticeship with Persimmon 1998/2001. Was with them until 2006 when they decided to make the workforce redundant & go down the subcontractor route. The time I was with them, they were constantly winning NHBC awards for their quality. Sad to see them now

In house apprenticeships would make for higher standards of pride in workmanship I expect. Where as subcontractors don’t have as much pride in their work as they’re doing it in someone else’s name.

OMG! If this is not a one-off Friday afternoon job, then the UK housebuilding industry has BIG problems. Who are they employing?

MIL downsized to a new box made of ticky tack and as I had worked in the industry many years I did a snagging list for her. It ended up 105 items which all got done eventually after a threat of legal action.

Been viewing houses since April, lost count of number of viewings but I can count the number of new builds I've viewed, zero.

Where’s the NHBC? Appalling standards. 🤬
