Property tax would be much less of an issue if we didn't have 30 year mortgages artificially driving up home valuations.

Boomers did a great job of getting rid of pensions. I've worked for 5 companies that eliminated their pensions just prior to my becoming eligible. Fuck those Boomer fucks.

This is absolutely wrong and evil! Especially when you understand how inflation works and how those raising the taxes are the exact reason prices have increased as much as they have as they don’t offset their spending with taxes we all pay through inflation.

Under the Biden administration my property taxes quadrupled and now the county wants to increase them more.

Taxation is theft.

They want everyone to rent. They've made it more sensible to rent for the rest of your life instead of buying. Like the video says, you pay a huge amount to buy a house and then essentially rent it through property taxes. The American dream is long dead.

Almost as if they were supposed to sell their houses at a fair and reasonable rate to downsize for their kids to inherit their house before they got too old.

because they sort of do end up with 2m. its called capital gains, they now own 2 mil in equity just as if you had bought stocks that appreciated boomer homeowners dont need more welfare

Most jurisdictions have senior discounts for property taxes. And that's probably the most harmful thing because it means everyone else pays more taxes when seniors who live in larger homes should be downsizing to smaller residences.

I am against taxes in general. But maybe do something about income tax before property taxes. Also if property prices were to go down, then taxes would also go down as well. Overvalued homes are part of the problem.

Always remember and spread to as many as you can, every US state has a program where land tax can be based on the land and not the home value. They have a low requirement of making at least $2k -$3k a year from your land. There is zero requirement for it to actually be farm land
